Grayson's POV
The date with Guilliana couldn't have been worse. I screwed up and said all the wrong things. How could I be so stupid? I finally get somewhere with her and I screwed it up. All my life I grew up and everyone around me found validation in the finer things of life so I just assumed she did as well. It was wrong of me though. Now I feel like an asshole and she won't even talk to me. I deserve it though. I made her feel so low. I treated her like every other girl i knew when i shouldn't have because shes not like every other girl. I had to find a way to fix things. I was not going to let one of the best things that has happened to my life get away.
As I pulled into the driveway i noticed Kimberly's car. She told me would be stopping by soon to discuss closing our latest deal with Evergreen Marine ( an international shipping company), but I didn't think it would be as earlier as now; obviously or I wouldn't have been out with Guilianna. I opened the front door for her and she stepped in. All of the lights were on in the house. Kimberly always does that when she comes over despite me telling her about how much I hate it. She would most likely be waiting in the kitchen so hopefully Guilianna could make it to her room unnoticed. I wasn't attempting to hide her I just feel it best that Kimberly keeps her distance. It was apparent that she wasn't fond of Guiliana. She felt that she had bad intentions and has some mastermind plan to infiltrate our family money. She was delusional. This wasn't the first time she has drafted wild narratives but I continuously ignore them: after all she is a great business partner. Despite her being annoying and clingy, she knew how to do her job. She was my business advisor but also did a lot unofficially. I've known for as long as I can remember. Our parents were friends since I was little. We dated a while back for quite a while. I never really loved her I just did it because I was young and wanted some type of stability in my life. The relationship was monotonous and dreadful. She's not ugly or anything she's very beautiful actually but she was boring and controlling. She also cheated and I would be lying if I said I didn't. I had to end the relationship because she wouldn't drop the talk of marriage. Never in a million years would I marry her. The sex was fun though. Still is.
I watched as Guiliana turned the corner into the hall way. I couldn't tell if she would forgive me for tonight. I hoped she would. After watching her leave I made my way into the kitchen where I saw Kimberly sitting at the counter with her legs crossed. I walked over to where she sat. She must've knew I was out with Guilianna because she was staring at me with a distasteful look on her face.
"Did I come here just to stare at me?", I ask her.
"No of course not. I find it funny is all", she replied as she shrugged her shoulders and crossed her hands.
"Well I don't know why you find anything funny because last time I checked I didn't make a fucking joke". I was already in a bad mood because of how things went with Guilliana and knowing Kimberly she would make it worse.
"You're right you didn't make a joke and I know you don't wanna hear this but-"
"Kimberly I don't fucking pay you to tell me shit about my life I don't wanna hear and didn't ask for and if you keep this up you won't be getting payed at all and will have to end up freeloading off some cocksucker just like your mother", I spoke sternly as I placed both my hands on either side of her and leaned in close. She knew me long enough to know when to stop fucking with me and when I was serious. I leaned away from her and crossed my arms. She gazed at me coldly but didn't dare say a word.
"So tell me about the Evergreen merger"
"Well they informed me that running their company into this type of business was risky and that the board will be hard to win over especially with the margin gaps", she spoke as she read her email.
"What the hell is their problem? Have they not seen the profit percent and PVP chart?", I asked beginning to get frustrated.
"Yes I have shown them all of that and that is still the answer I was given"
"Those fuckers are trying to pull one over on me they want me to meet them at that bullshit of an initial price they gave me. They think that because I'm young that I'm a fucking dumbass?! They would be foolish to pass this up their company is going to go bankrupt without this money"
"Yes I'm well aware but-"
"You know what? Add another million to their final paying price. Those fuckers are gonna pay for pissing me off"
"But Grayson-"
"Kimberly what did I just say?!"
"Sorry. I'll email them immediately", she respond hesitantly. I could tell she had something she wanted to say but I didn't care. It was my business.
"Now, you should be on your-", I started but stopped when I noticed Kimberly looking past me. The annoyed expression on her face informed me on who it was.
Guiliana's POV
"Well well what do we have here?", Kimberly snickered as she arose from her spot.
"Kimberly I think it's time for you to leave", Grayson said. He stood behind Kimberly as she was now walking towards me. Although he spoke to her, he stared at me, but alas I ignored him. I needed to.
"Oh don't mind me. I'll be heading out I just wanted to formally introduce myself. The last time we met was so impromptu don't you think", she sneered as she gave me one of her award winning two faced red lipstick smiles.
"Well I think you'll be happy to hear that we don't need an introduction. Now if you'll excuse me I was going somewhere and I think you were leaving", I sneered back as I made my way past her and out the glass doors to the backyard. I barely knew that woman but she seemed to loathe me so if she wanted to play that game I could play it too. I was already in a shitty mood because of Grayson so I didn't have time for miss mean girl to be bitchy towards me.
The air outside was cool and dry. The wind blew across my face; it was perfectly calming. I turned my head to peer back inside. Grayson and Kimberly were leaving out the front door. Good. I couldn't stand to be within 100 feet of either of them. I sat on one of the benches and looked up. The stars always fascinated me. If star-gazing was considered a hobby then it would be mine. I let everything going on escape my mind like I always did when I watched the night sky. I could sit like this for hours, which I nearly did once if it wasn't for the golden peak of the sunrise forcing me out of my daze. But this time I was drawn out by the sound of footsteps. I assumed it was Grayson so I didn't pay them any mind. The footsteps got closer and eventually stopped directly behind me. The presence made me feel uneasy and I quickly realized it wasn't Grayson.
"Don't move"
