Chapter 10: Ignoring Each Other

Chapter 10

Niall's POV

Harry and I were getting bored sitting here alone. I wonder what everyone else is doing. I let out a sigh, thinking about Cat. She would never be mine. I looked over at Harry. "Do you want to go look for the others?" I asked softly. He gave me a small smile. "Yeah, sure." he muttered.

We got up and walked further down the beach. I wonder where everyone went.

"Where is everybody?" Harry asked aloud to no one in particular. I shrugged lightly as we continued walking. In the distance, we saw two figures.

Louis and Cat.

I felt a pang of jealousy as we walked over to them. I took a glance at Harry, who had a frown on his face with his fists clenched.

Cat's cheeks were slightly red as she stared at the sand below her. Louis was just looking out into the distance with a look of confusion on his face. It was almost as if they were uneasy because of something that had happened.

"Is everything alright?" I asked slowly. They both turned to face Harry and I.

"Oh, uh-," Louis stammered and glanced at Cat.

"Yeah, umm, we're fine," Cat said with a tone in her voice that I didn't catch.

"Ok, so are we ready to go now?" Harry asked slightly annoyed. He didn't like the way Louis and Cat were looking at each other. They both nodded and stood up.

We walked towards the car. Whoa, something clearly went wrong.

Sam was looking down with a look of confusion and guilt on her face. Zayn had pain and confusion as well. And Liam, well... Liam looked like he was about to rip someones head off. I wonder what happened...

"Are you all okay?" Cat asked sounding concerned.

"Yeah," Sam mumbled.

"Can we just go home now?" Zayn pleaded. We all nodded and piled into the car and headed home.

Sam's POV

I really screwed up this time. I don't know what I'm feeling right now. I've never been the type that expresses my feelings willingly, but now I'm not sure. I mean, I have feelings for Liam, but at the same time I have feelings for Zayn. Yup, you heard it. I am in love with Liam Payne and Zayn Malik... At the same time! Is it wrong to love two people at once? Ugh!

I heard a small knock at the door.

"Sam, can I come in?" Cat's soft voice came from the other side of the door.

"Sure," I replied.

Cat came in with a frown on her face.

"Hey, what's wrong?" I asked. Cat wasn't her normal bubbly, carefree self, so I knew something was wrong.

"Louis kissed me," she spoke barely above a whisper, staring at the tan carpet. My eyes widened. "Did you kiss back?" I asked frowning lightly.

"I-I'm not sure, Sam," she said softly. "I didn't really know what was happening." she admitted. "It only lasted for a few seconds, but I don't know what he meant by it. Does Louis like me? Or was he just stuck in the moment?"

The funny thing is, I was asking myself these same questions. Did Zayn have feelings for me? He did lean in first...

I put my hand lightly on Cat's hand. "I'm not sure. Do you like him?" I asked her. She appeared to be thinking about it for a while. "I don't know, Sam. I'm just so confused." she put her face in her hands. I patted her back gently.

"Why were you upset while we were in the car?" she asked quietly. I sighed.

"Zayn and I kissed,"she gasped.

"And Liam caught us." I finished.

"Oh, wow," she trailed off. "What did Liam say?"

"Nothing. He hasn't spoken to me or Zayn since we left the beach." I feel so guilty. Cat put her hand on my shoulder.

"It'll be alright Sam. Maybe you should talk to Liam and Zayn about everything." she suggested. I knew she was right. Ignoring each other wasn't going to solve anything. I nodded and looked over at her. "Thanks, kiddo." she giggled and wrapped her arms around me. Normally, I would tell her to get off, but I needed a hug right now.

"Sam," she whispered. I hummed in response.

"I have feelings for two boys at once. Is that bad?" she asked sounding like a child asking her mother a question.

"I'm not sure. I like two boys now, too." I said in all honesty.

"Wow," she breathed and I nodded.

"Which two?" I asked her.

"Louis and Niall," she said blushing. Aww. "You?" she asked.

"Zayn and Liam," I said. She nodded and put her head on my shoulder.

We sat in silence until we both fell asleep.

Liam's POV

I should've known Zayn liked Sam. I can't believe he was snogging her. She's my girlfriend! Not only that, but I love her so much. She probably likes Zayn too. He's better looking than I am, they both have mysterious personalities. They are perfect for each other. I don't know why I even bothered with Sam.

Louis' POV

When I kissed Cat, everything was perfect. My heart stopped and I felt tingly all over. I know Harry likes her too, but I had to show Cat that I have feelings for her.

No one has spoken since we left the beach. I wonder what went down with Zayn, Sam, and Liam. Oh, well. Whatever it is, I hope they work it out.

I should probably get some rest now. Maybe I will talk to Cat tomorrow about the kiss.

Meh.

*the next morning*

Zayn's POV

I hardly got any sleep last night. All I could think about was Sam. I know I hurt Liam and that wasn't right. But kissing Sam was what felt right. Ugh, I don't want to face Sam or Liam today. Bleh.

I got out of bed and trudged slowly downstairs. I smelled eggs and bacon.

When I got there, everyone was at the table, not saying a word to each other. Cat came out of the kitchen holding a plate of food.

"Morning, Zayn. I made you a plate." she said brightly. I grinned at her. She always knows how to cheer someone up. "Thanks," I said politely and sat between Harry and Louis.

The rest of the morning, everyone was silent. When Cat insisted on gathering our plates, we all still sat at the table, glaring at each other or looking around awkwardly. I could feel the tension between everyone. Cat came out and looked at all of us for a while, then she sighed. She quietly rushed upstairs with tears brimmed in her eyes. I hate seeing her upset like this.

Everyone noticed Cat, and looked guilty. We were all upset with each other, and it was upsetting Cat. We all glanced at each other awkwardly.

"I'm gonna uh, go check on Cat," Sam said.

"I'm gonna go to my room," I muttered. Everyone mumbled a 'yeah' or 'me too' and we all went our separate ways.

We are all falling apart.
