Jack's POV:

I didn't realize the dove had flown off until I calmed down. I wish it would have stayed but it deserved to be free so I didn't go after it. I decided I had stayed in this one room too long, so I went to go get fresh air. I felt so weak that I couldn't fly, so I walked along the hardwood floor. That panic attack must have taken more out of me than I thought.

As I approached the central chamber with the globe I could hear voices.

Guardian's POV:

We were in the midst of discussing how to remedy the dire situation we were in when we heard footsteps approaching. All of us turned to look, and in the doorway stood Jack. He was leaning against his staff with his eyes looking downward, his hood on. His once vibrant blue eyes were bloodshot and pale, the mischievous sparkle was gone from them. He had dark circles under his eyes and his hair was more tousled than normal. He looked like a man who had given up.

Jack's POV:

As I entered the room I saw the worried faces of the other guardians, but I didn't focus much on that as I looked at them. Bunnymund was a small bunny, Tooth wasn't flitting around like normal giving commands to fairies, and North looked exhausted and aged.

I looked towards the globe, it was almost completely engulfed in black. That was why I felt so weak and couldn't fly. It was from a lack of belief. The children were afraid, they were without love and compassion. I had been so caught up grieving the loss of Amorette and blaming myself for what happened that I neglected to protect the children. Amorette wouldn't have wanted this, I felt a steady determination building in me.

I would save my friend from the darkness and save the children of the world in the process.

I lifted my head and removed my hood, I would be strong for her. No more crying, no more self degradation.

Jack: "What are you all sitting around staring for, we have a job to do."

Looking at the globe I got an idea, looking back at the other guardians I spoke.

" Let's get to work on saving the children and Amorette, I have an idea."
