"Can I have your name, please?" asked the receptionist.
"It's Camila, C-A-M-I-L-A." I answered as I twirled the pen in my hand and get ready for registration.
"What course are you in?" asked the lady again. "Music," I said excitedly even though it's my second year there. Taking Music as my degree course was such an amazing journey. So far.

I left my family back home and I continued my study for another 2 years. I wanna make my parents proud of who I am. They knew I have always been interested in music. I was glad they let me take this path. As I was done with the registration, I thanked the lady and left the office. It was my first day of the semester and I went to the office just after my first lecture. Now, I need to go home and rest.

I walked back home, taking the university route. I had to walk past several buildings to get to my house. For a shorter and safer route. I was wearing my purple backpack and the colour was distinctive. And my neck scarf was noticeable, even though I covered half of my face to avoid the cold wind. My housemates would still know that's me. As I was walking, I heard someone called out my name from behind. I turned around and saw my housemate, Dinah. I stopped and waited for her. She ran towards me and we walked home together.

My housemate, Dinah, was walking with me since she just finished her lecture. She's taking English as her degree. I'd known her for a year now, but I was still not sure why she had taken this course. She's such a bimbo. And her vocabulary was hell limited.

"How's your first class?" I was curious.
"It was fun, how's yours?" she asked back.
"Same." I thought.

As we walked back to our home, through the university route, I saw a girl across, walking to our opposite direction. She's going to the university. She was wearing her green backpack, with black boots and skinny dark blue jeans and a black long sleeve. I had never seen her before, I think she's new. Apparently, Dinah knew her. Dinah waved at her frantically and I was embarrassed by her. She waved back. I just walked straight and looked in front. I didn't try to smile or anything. I didn't know her.

From what I saw, she must be living near my area, the fact that she used the same road as we were. I was curious about who that was. We continued our conversations and shared about our first day as we walked home. I didn't ask about her yet. I mean, the university was huge and there're hundreds of students, it's perfectly normal to not to know or had never seen her. The fact that Dinah knew her, so I assumed she's a continuing student.

The cold wind was blowing really hard and we walked very fast. As I arrived home, I put my hand in my pocket and searched for my keys. It was cold so my hand was numb. Plus my head was still thinking about the girl. I was distracted. After a while, I found it and opened the door quickly. I opened the door and left it for Dinah to enter. I opened my shoes and put it in the cabinet on the side. Dinah was behind me and closed the door. When I saw Dinah was in and ready to go upstairs to her room, I was still standing near the staircase cause my room was downstairs and looking at her blankly.

Dinah took her orange backpack to her chest and ready to climb the stairs but I stopped her.

"Who was that, the one that you waved at?" I blurted out.
"That was Lauren. She's in her first year, why?" she replied as she climbed the steps.

I guess  I was just curious. I went into my room and put my bag down. I took off my scarf and hung it behind the door. I took off my socks and changed my clothes into a comfy one. It has been cold outside so I needed to warm up my body. I switched on my electric heater. My bed was near the window so I could watch the weather and people passing by. My mind was still wondering about her. I pulled up my blanket and covered most of my body. My eyes betrayed me and soon I fell asleep.

I guess I was exhausted after the first class. A couple of hours had gone by, I woke up with an empty stomach. I realised I hadn't had my lunch. I kicked the blanket out of my bed and got up. I tied up my hair and made a bun. I went towards the door and opened it. I heard voices in the kitchen area. Yes, my room was next to the kitchen. I went to the kitchen, wearing just my blue shorts and a white tank top - my comfy clothing. I wasn't expecting any guests so I walked around with my usual pair of clothes. As I entered the kitchen, I stood at the counter and saw an unrecognisable person across the kitchen, sitting on the couch in the living room. Our eyes met but half of her face was covered by Ally who was standing in front of her. Ally turned around and saw me. Ally was one of my housemates as well, staying next to my room.

"Mila, this is Lauren. She's the first year." she introduced as her gesture pointing at this fine looking lady.

"Hey." the smoking hot black boot girl spoke up.

"......Hi?" I stuttered and had an awkward look. I completely had forgotten the fact that I wore my inappropriate clothing in the house in front of a new guest.

I left the kitchen and went back to my room. I had totally forgotten about me being hungry. I was too shocked and embarrassed. As I entered my room, I looked for my sports pants and wore it. I was starving at this point and went back to the kitchen with better appropriate clothes. I made some food for myself. The whole time I was in the kitchen, I pretended to not see her but I was eavesdropping the whole time. I guess I was just curious and interested about the girl. When I was done with the cooking. I took my plate off the counter and brought it to my room. I didn't have the guts to stay in the living room and be in the same room with that woman. I just felt something and a vibe. Before I left, I said my goodbye with my plate in my right hand and a water bottle on the other.

"Bye, nice to meet you."
"Likewise," she responded while flipping her hair back.

I went straight to my room and put my things on my desk and jumped onto my messy bed. I thought I was crazy. These feelings that I had.. what was that? She's a freaking lady. I'm a lady. I couldn't like her. Could I? Ladies couldn't like ladies.

I had to deny these feelings that I had. She's just too pretty not to notice, that's just it. She's the prettiest girl that I had ever seen in my entire life. I convinced myself that I was awed by her beauty, from a girl's point of view. Yep.

I forgot about my food and my hunger. I put on my favourite tv show - Grey's Anatomy, and ate my meal. Half of my body on my office chair and my legs on my bed. I forgot about Lauren and enjoyed my free time.
