Colorful, like a coat of rainbow.

Yet evil, like a heart of fire.

Beautiful in so many ways.

However, such a dreadful liar.

Why do people ignore him?

Why do people deceive?

He's just your everyday canine.

Spit his way, and he won't leave.

Wolves and Retrievers,

They're all known galore.

Yet the African Wild Dog?

They could be treated as more.

They're going extinct,

And even so greedy,

They're living, like us,

Wanting help, they are needy.

But why do we not speak of them, too?

Why do we walk from the dogs as we do?

They lurk and they bark,

They claw and they bite,

They're dangerous . . .

You're everyday canine.

They're beautiful,

As I said before.

They're magical,

As they run, they soar.

But they're evil,

Of course.

And they howl,

The moon they're source.

They're like a wolf,

Tall and bold,

Rude and cold,

Elegant, yet sold.

Sold? For what?

Their fur.

Soft and warm,

To traps, they are lured.

While so similar, why so ignored?

Why do we never, about them, inform?

Yet the world may never know.

For their extinction will soon come and go.
