I was forced into a ball gown by Bernie and Louisa. I didn't like the way it looked, but they wanted to see me in it. I guess that if I didn't like it, then we could rule all ball gowns out. But then if I got a form-fitting one, I'd probably look like a boy.
"Oh! Olivia, you look stunning!" Bernie exclaimed, and I smiled a bit as I stepped onto a small platform. I ran my hands over the skirt and sighed.
"Bernie, I don't feel like a bride in this. More like a cupcake." I sighed, and Josephine laughed from where she sat next to Bernie.
"A very beautiful cupcake! Liv, I believe that you will look stunning in anything, but I think my comment is pushing more towards the fact that you are going to be a bride." She smiled, and I stepped down from the platform and pulled Bernie up. I hugged her tightly and smiled as we parted.
"Thank you," I whispered, and she smiled and nodded.
"Of course, love."

I tried on several dresses before I got dressed and started to look again. I found a few that I really like, and when I went to try those on, when I walked out Serena and Cynthia were sitting on the couch with the rest of the people who came with me.
"Serena? Cy?" I asked, as I slowly walked towards the platform.
"Is it okay that we are here?" Cynthia asked, and I swallowed hard and nodded.
"Yeah, you're my maid of honor. I just didn't think you'd show up." I breathed, as I stepped onto the platform, lifting the dress in the process and showing off the high tops I was planning on wearing to my wedding.
"You are supposed to wear the shoes you are planning on getting married in," Serena smirked, and I didn't respond to her. I just turned to Bernie and ran my hands over the form-fitting strapless dress.
"Do I look like a guy?" I asked, and Bernie shook her head.
"No, you look like a real bride." She smiled, and I nodded. I looked over at Cynthia who was quietly talking to Serena.
"What do you two think? Or is this a problem? Am I interrupting your plans?" I asked.
"Liv-" Serena started, but I shook my head.
"If I'm interrupting all of your mother-daughter bonding, please tell me. Because then I can plan my wedding around both of you." I spat, before turning and walking back into the dressing room. I quickly started to try and get the dress off as the woman who runs the shop tried to help me.
I started to panic because of how I just spoke to my sister, and now the dress felt like it was cutting off my oxygen, even if it didn't even come close to my neck.
"Liv, sweetie," Bernie spoke, as she came to my rescue once again. She quickly came towards me and hugged me as the woman finally got the zipper to go down. I started to breath easier, as I clung to her.
"I'm going to lose Cynthia because of Serena. And I'm losing Serena because I'm not the daughter she wanted. Everything is just really bad right now, and I don't want it to be. I want to be happy and focusing on my wedding! I can't wait to marry Elliot, but I don't even know if I want to do anything big now because my only family probably won't show up." I sobbed.
[*]
Just the thought of only have Elliot's family show up to my wedding was really upsetting. Serena and Cynthia weren't responding to any of my messages or calls, and I knew that I had really pushed them away. I wanted to blame it all on them because they were the ones leaving me out of this all. They were becoming a family, while I'm the other daughter who isn't wanted in their small family.
So, about two months before our planned wedding, Elliot and I got married on New Year's Eve, right as the ball dropped.
Elliot wore a tux, and I wore the form-fitting dress that I ran off in when I yelled at Serena and Cynthia.
At the age of 20, and being with Elliot for 6 years, I was finally happy. It took so much, but I finally was happy with the man I love more than words could ever even attempt to describe.
"I know that neither of you is of age, but one small glass of champagne won't be that much of a problem, and it's only for the toast," Joseph spoke, as he handed Elliot and myself champagne flutes.
"Who's toasting us? Because I know that I don't trust any of your sons. I barely trust the one I'm married too." I smirked, and Joseph laughed as Elliot elbowed me in my side.
"I am." A voice spoke, and I turned around and saw my father standing there, playing with an AA chip.
"Dad?" I asked, tearfully.
"Hey, Liv." He smiled. I handed my champagne flute to my husband, before quickly walking towards my father. I hugged him tightly, and he hugged me back just as tightly.
"What are you doing here? I haven't heard from you in months!" I exclaimed.
"I couldn't miss out on my daughter's wedding." He smiled, as I looked up at him. Tears ran down my cheeks as I smiled.
"You saw the whole wedding? If I knew you were there, I would've asked you to walk me down the aisle!" I exclaimed.
"I watched the whole thing, and now that I know you are happy I'm here, I'm going to toast you and that husband of yours. Because I know that this is going to be a marriage that lasts." He smiled.

From the day I met Elliot till now, I still believe that he is the most annoying man I've ever met. But he is also so charming, smart, funny, and so full of love for me. When we became friends, I started to fall in love with me and haven't fallen out of love with him since.
Even if I didn't really have a mom or a sister anymore, I did get my Dad back and I found a family when I met Elliot, one that always had my back.
