Chapter 3. Because They Left

I make my way back with water for Charlotte.

"If there's something you want to tell me, Daniel,  now would be a good time," Juliet says

"I'm not sure what you mean, exactly"

Sawyer says, "She's asking why your girlfriend had a seizure"

"Give us some space"

"She's like this 'cause the sky keeps lighting up! He knew this would happen and didn't say squat about it!"

"James, go away"

I grab his arm "Come on"

We walk over to where Locke is. 

Locke says, "We have to go back to the Orchid"

"Excuse me?" Sawyer says 

"The Orchid. That's where all this started, maybe its where it will all stop."

"The Orchid is pretty damn far," I say

"You said you had a Zodiac raft back at the beach, we can take that, cut around the island, be at The Orchid in half the time"

Sawyer says "Let me guess. You know what to do when we get there."

"Not exactly, but I know that Ben used it to leave the island and if I can do the same thing, I believe I can save us"

"And how are you gonna do that?"

"This is happening because they left. I think it'll stop if I can bring them back"

"Bring who back?" I ask

"Jack, Sun, Sayid, Hugo, Kate"

"The boat blew up and that chopper probably was on it," Sawyer says

"They're not dead, James"

"Says who?"

"That doesn't matter. All that matters is they've got to come back. I have to make them come back. Even if it kills me. Don't you want them to come back? Don't you want her to come back?"

"It doesn't matter what I want"

"Hey! She's waking up!" Miles says 

We walk over there.

We decide to go to the Orchid.

Its night and we see a beacon of light in the distance.

"What the hell is that?" I say

Locke says, "Whatever it is, we better stay clear of it"

"Beach is this way," Sawyer says pointing to where the beacon of light is.

"John...do you know when we are?" Faraday says

"We need to keep moving"

We hear screaming in the distance. 

Sawyer and I go to investigate.

We see Claire in labor and Kate delivering Aaron. 

Then there's another flash and they're gone.

We continue to make our way to the beach.

Sawyer and I are in the front and Locke comes over and says "Are you ready to tell me who you guys saw back there?"

"It doesn't matter" I say

"All three of us both know when we were before the flash. So who was it you saw? Charlie? Shannon? Yourself?"

"How is it that you knew when we were, Johnny Boy?" Sawyer says

I say, "That light in the sky. It was from the hatch, wasn't it?" 

"The night that Boone died...I went out there, started pounding on it hard as I could. I was confused...scared. Babbling like an idiot. Asking why was all this happening to me." Locke says

I ask, "Did you get an answer?"

"A light came on shot up into the sky. At the time, I thought it meant something."

Sawyer says, "Did it?"

"No. It was just a light"

We make it back to the beach and our camp is back.

"Finally, anybody up for a Dharma beer?" Sawyer says 

Nobody else is here.

The boat that Sayid brought is gone and there are canoe on the shore.

"Where did they come from?" Charlotte asks

Faraday says, "That's a good question, they're pretty old"

Miles says, "Not that old", he picks up a water bottle with a logo I've never seen before.

"Let me see that" Sawyer says and takes it from him

"Ajira" Sawyer says reading the water bottle

"Ajira. It's an airline, It's based out of India. They fly everywhere" Juliet says

"Great. Maybe they got a flight out here to Vegas. Who came in these? Other Others?" Sawyer says 

"Don't look at me" Juliet says

"I wanna know when they're coming back" I say

"Let's not wait to find out" Locke says

So we use the canoe to get around the island and get to the Orchid.

We get attacked by people on another canoe. Sawyers paddle breaks so I give him mine and I take the rifle and shoot and the people shooting at us. I'm able to shoot two and then there's another flash.

Its now dark and pouring rain. We head straight for the shore.

When we get to the shore, it stops raining and Charlotte finds what looks like a wreckage and everything seems to be in French.
