I lay on my bed and stare at the Five Finger Death Punch posters on my bedroom walls. I look around at the cluttered mess on my desk. I see the flowers Ross gave me two months ago when we were dating. It's in a glass vase with stale water and rotten rose petals. I haven't bothered to throw them out even though their already brown.
I started thinking about Ross and how I loved him so much. Why would he just dump me like that? We were so In love. Or so I thought. Was it my past? Maybe he was cheating on me? I tried stopping myself from thinking about him, it was hard but I managed it.
After a few minutes of admiring the roses my mom came in. "Dani?" I jumped and looked up at her. "Get out," I said. My mom slammed the door. I can hear her footsteps leave the hall and down the stares.
I called my closest friend, Sera to ask her if she wanted to go the mall with me. "Sure, I'll be there in ten." I really didn't know why she was still my friend with everything I've been through. I thought about inviting Rydel. I hesitated for a moment, then dialed her number. I had to know what was up with Ross.
The doorbell rang a few minutes later. Sera walked into my room and sat on the edge of my bed. "Hey what's up?" Her brown eyes wondered around my room and on the wooden floor. "Nothin', I was just bored. Rydel is coming too. I hope you don't mind." "Oh no, it's cool." After a moment of silence the doorbell rang again. Sera and I ran down stares. I opened the door and Rydel was there. Her blond hair in a bun and her makeup perfect. "Hi!" "Hey." She fixed her eyes on Sera behind me and put her hand out for her to shake. "Hi I'm Rydel" "Sera, nice to meet you" I cut in, "Should we go?" "Good idea," Rydel said.
We all slid into my car and drove off to the mall.
