In the southern coast of Mexico, according to alot of people online saw a strange light on the sky and blames it to be coming from Aliens or extra-terrestrial from another planet... You can see why people think that this was an Alien Light show because of it sparking colors like Green and Blue... now in a normal storm, the lightning isn't green so technically it couldn't be after a storm
I thought this was gonna be another "NASA finds more proof about alien life on Earth" but as I dug more into the science of this light, I was able to see that it wasn't from an alien species but from something we see everyday
Before continue reading, I want the readers (you) to guess the cause of the lights and comment on this. Now here are your choices:
A. A disco party
B. An earthquake
C. A tsunami
D. Gravity
E. It's the aliens
Done? Because if you answered B, you are one smart cookie. But for those who got it wrong, you're probably you're asking, How would an Earthquake be the cause of something in the sky?
Now lets study how can we cause an earthquake. Earthquakes are caused by tectonic movements in the Earth's crust. The main cause is that when tectonic plates collide, one rides over the other, causing orogeny (mountain building), earthquakes and volcanoes. The boundaries between moving plates form the largest fault surfaces on Earth. But how can something on the ground get to the air.

This is caused by the friction of the same materials or in this case stones that are rubbed together giving enough friction to spark like starting a fire.
it turns ou that when you stress or sheer certain elements, it forces the chemical bonds to break releasing energy in the form of visible light. This is called Tribolumenescence and not just candy that gives out tribolumenescence but also duct tape.
The reason why the lights are big is because of the bigger ores or rocks being smashed together. And since this is after an Earthquake this would make a lot of sense.
