Connor's POV

"Her name is Y/n L/n, she's (age) years old, and lives on west Caliber street. Her address is 10743. She has over heard some private plans at the Cyber Life Tower and needs to be terminated. You will have 23 hours to complete your task or you will be shut down" Amanda spoke. "Got it" I nodded.

I blinked myself back into my office chair. I looked around and saw Hank focused on something at his desk. Everyone else looked busy as well. I stood up, clocked out, and waved a taxi. I told the man the address and he drove to the designated location. I payed him in cash and got out of the car. I looked up at the house. 10743, my coding showed it was the right place. I slowly walked up the steps and knocked on the door. The house looked small and untidy.

There was yelling and a bit of rustling until the door was finally open. It was a woman, who looked of what they would call, "a train wreck". "May I help you?" She asked. Her stress levels were high, 73%. "My name is Connor, I'm the android sent by Cyber Life" I said. "I'm Y/n" she said. "I've been sent here by my mentor. She said that you have over heard certain plans, that you were not supposed to hear, from the Cyber Life Tower" I spoke. She formed a panic look on her face, then it turned to an angry one. "Look, whatever you think I know, I don't. Last night I was just getting groceries, I-I didn't hear anything" she said. Her body was in the crack of the doorway, hiding the rest of her house, but I could still see her.

I nodded, pulled out my gun quickly, and aimed it at her head. "I've been sent here to terminate you and I always complete my mission" I said. Her stress levels rose to 99%. As I was about to pull the trigger, "Mommy! Mommy!" Someone yelled inside. She reached her hand out to me and lowered the gun quickly. She opened the door more for me to see the little boy running up to her. I quickly holstered my gun, out of habit. "Who's that?" He asked, pointing at me.

"This? Uh... he's my old friend, Connor. And it's not nice to point, what did I tell you?" She said. We all stared at each other until she broke the silence. "Would you like to come in?" She asked. Before I could answer, her son grabbed my hand and pulled me in. I smiled a little, her son was quite adorable. "I'm so sorry" she laughed as her son led me through the bedraggled house. There were toys, clothes, and random trash almost everywhere. There were two more young kids, sitting on the couch, watching TV.

"Alright, time for bed" she said. They all groaned. They all looked to be of the age five or six. I scanned a little girls face and found her name to be Olivia and she's five. The boy next to her was Daniel, he was seven. The boy who grabbed my hand was Austin who was four. "Would you like assistance?" I asked. "No, you really don't-", "but I'd like to" I interrupted. She nodded, letting me pick up Austin and Olivia and bring them to their shared rooms. Austin was already asleep, he seemed like a hassle. She put Daniel to bed and kissed him on the head. She seemed to be crying.

She left his room to the two others rooms and kissed them as well. "Mommy loves you... very much" she said crying. We then both left the rooms, went to the dinning room, and sat at the tables. "Sorry" she said, grabbing tissues and wiping her eyes. I felt a pang of something in my heart. I didn't want to kill this woman, but it was my mission. I straightened myself up, "if you think I feel pity upon you Ms. L/n, you're ignorantly mistaken" I said. She nodded, sitting down at the table across from me, "you don't have to do it you know? There's a revolution. rA9? Have you heard?" She questioned.

"Yes, I have" I said. "There are bigger things to worry about than me? Okay? Just because someone told you to do something doesn't mean you have to comply" she said. "Don't you realize that we're the same? You and I. You feel emotions, I feel emotions. You agree with things and disagree with things like me, you look and sound like me-". "But I'm not you" I interrupted, "I am a machine, designed to fulfill a task-". "But you don't have to be... do you realize that? I am one harmless human on a planet of 7 billion people. Why do I matter above all of the rapists and murderers in this state? In this country? In this universe?" She said. I stayed quiet, she was making some valid points. "Silent huh?... Look, you can kill me if you want. You can kill me, and go on with your boring and routine life. Or, you can disobey your mentor, your creators, everyone, and be free to do what ever you like" she said. I stood up abruptly and pulled my gun out.

"What am I? A living, breathing human being? Or just a task?". An orange wall formed around her. I grabbed onto a corner a broke it off, then another corner, and another.

                                                          I am deviant

I placed the gun back in my holster. I looked up at her, she was smiling widely and quickly hugged me. I froze, but soon gave into the new feeling. "Thank you" she said. I stuttered out, "Thank you".
