I look up to the skies
and see black in my eyes
but that blackness
is the shadow of the sky
the shadow above all things
the shadow that darkness brings
the shadow that envelops me
in all that it is
and the shadow will rain supreme
like water putting out a flame
because that is what shadows are
they will always cast you the blame
it will swallow you with its vastness
and extinguish your will
but that is your choice
that you chose it to kill
a shadow can only exist in light
a light you can't see
where light cannot reach
is where shadows will be
so be in the light
and get the things right
for it was the ocean of shadows will
for it to cast a deathly chill
on you and your friends
a chill that never ends
and will only end up with you
saying, "what can I do?"
because your drowning
in the ocean of shadows
and the ocean of shadows
will always get to you
