This story begins in the bedroom of James Peterson. One morning when he woke up, James went to use the restroom. When he came out, he found a huge puddle of blood. Out of the corner of his eye, a huge shadow appeared, and on the table, there was a scar. He picked it up. James suddenly realized this was just a dream as he sat up in his bed.
He decided to go downstairs and told his mom, "I had the strangest dream last night." James told his mom the gruesome details of his dream about the blood, the gun, and how scared he was. This all happened on Friday, the last day before Halloween, as he then boarded his school bus. His ears began to rumble with loud, ghostly shrieks that only he could hear. When he looked at the driver, his face had changed into that of a demon. He had red eyes, a black face, large sharp horns, and words written in blood on his forehead that read, "You will die tonight." The driver yelled at James to sit down, but his face had already changed back to normal. James reluctantly sat down and looked outside through the window. As the road passed by, James began to space out after what he had just seen. A few minutes later, one of the other kids on the bus jumped into the seat next to him.
They began introducing themselves and making small talk. James said, "Hi, my name is James Peterson. What's your name?" The boy smiled and said, "My name is Joseph Futureteller." James asked his new friend, "I have been seeing things. Have you been having weird thoughts and seeing things as well?" Joseph replied, "Yes, is it like demons and scary things?" The bus suddenly stopped as they had arrived at school.
The new friends got off the bus and walked through the front doors of the school together. However, this day was not a usual one, as the boys quickly found out. The quarterback and most popular guy in school tripped and broke his ankle right in front of them in the hallway, and then was taken to the nurse's office. The boys split up, with James having his algebra class and Joseph having science. Although they were in separate classes, every time throughout the day that they saw any adults, they all had demonic faces.
At lunch, the boys were walking past the nurse's office as she was panicking because the quarterback who had been hurt had just disappeared right before her very eyes. As the school day continued, things kept getting weirder as more and more students began seeing and hearing terrifying things. Once the school day had finally ended and everyone was leaving their last class, a horrible scream came from the hall.
The nurse was terrified and running, and only the students could see what was pursuing her. It was a giant hand the size of an elephant flying in the air chasing after her. The hand had terrifying claws that looked like giant knives, and they were horribly scarred from being burned. The nurse was suddenly picked up and thrown into a large portal of flames that had appeared in the floor, where she was taken off to hell. Once the nurse had fully passed through the portal, the darkness seemed to vanish. James' mom pulled up, and he went outside to go home. James walked up to the car and asked his mom, "Are you alright?" She turned to James in the driver's seat, smiled, and her face began to change. Her face began to tighten, and her skin pulled as it transformed into a plastic-like doll complexion. She then handed James a letter, and he realized that this could not be his mom. Still standing next to the car and facing the doll that was impersonating his mother, James reluctantly opened the letter and began to read. The letters were smeared, and all the writing was in a greenish-black blood. The letter only had a short message: "Time is running out for you, James and Joseph; I'm going to have one of you for dinner and the other for dessert. When the full moon finally comes on Halloween night, one of you will be first, Muah-ha-ha-ha-ha."
He finished reading the letter and slowly lifted his gaze only to see the car and the doll were gone—they seemed to have just vanished into thin air. When he looked back down at the letter, the blood ink began to spread on the page. Then, in an instant, spiders began pouring out of the paper and crawling up his sleeves. While all this was occurring, James's real mom had pulled into the school and was worried about him because he was freaking out about something, but she couldn't see anything wrong with him. Seeing his frightened expression, James's mom, Elizabeth Peterson, called out to him, and that brought James back to reality. James, with a sigh of relief from escaping the nightmare, reluctantly got into the car, although he was still suspicious this may not be his mom.
Elizabeth Peterson said, "What is the matter with you? You look so suspicious and are acting so strange." James had been so scared by all the visions he had seen he couldn't even come up with a response. They drove home in silence, and when they arrived, James's little sister, Kira, was staring through the door. Kira Peterson was a strange child that James had never trusted.
She stopped staring through the doorway and began to walk outside, never taking her eyes off of James. However, James never noticed Kira as he was talking to his mom, and during that time, Kira slowly crept up behind James where they were talking next to the window. James began to turn because he felt an evil presence behind him, and as he slowly turned, Kira's face had glaring blood-red eyes, a hole in her forehead oozing green and black blood and pus, and teeth as long and sharp as a wolf's. James jumped back and screamed at the sight, and with his blood-curdling scream, Kira began to sing a song meant to torture anyone who could hear it. While this was occurring, their mother was only able to see her beautiful daughter and her amazing smile. James ignored the singing and walked into the house with his mother while Kira continued to sing, but she came inside shortly after the other two.
Inside their mansion-like house, where all the furnishings seemed to grow creepier by the day, the size of the house itself could be considered terrifying. James had experienced enough terror for one day and could barely walk through the house without being frightened, so instead of eating, or watching TV, or playing video games as he normally would, he decided to fall asleep.
He slept through the rest of the night, and when he awoke, it had finally come. The day for free candy and costumes and everything scary—the morning of Halloween. Halloween landing on a Saturday meant there was more time to go trick-or-treating and no wasting time waiting for school to get out. First thing when he woke up, James went to Joseph's house. No one answered the door, and when he went to knock again, the door slowly creaked open. He walked in and said hello in a scared voice, hoping Joseph would respond, but all he heard was silence. He walked through the house and into the bathroom. He walked through the bathroom connected with Joseph's room and found a huge puddle of blood.
This scared James because every sight, sound, and smell were exactly like his dream. Out of the corner of his eye, James saw a shadow, and unlike his dream, he was able to turn and see the creature. The creature, covered in Joseph's blood, smiled through its fangs, and James realized it was his evil sister, Kira.
After seeing the creature was really his sister, James ran out of the room and into the kitchen, where on the table there was a SCAR machine gun.
Picking up the gun gave James the courage to destroy the evil that was supposed to be his sister. However, he was so nervous that his sister said, "You can't kill me because I'm your sister, and I know you don't have the guts to pull the trigger." James responded nervously, "I'll do it if I have to." She then lunged at James, flying through the air, but James, although afraid, raised the SCAR and closed his eyes, pulling the trigger and screaming in fear. He opened his eyes to see his sister lying on the floor. James could not believe what he had done and lowered his head in remorse, but raising it up again, knowing he did the right thing, he looked again, but his sister's body was gone along with all of the blood.
