"What is it, Sainik?"
"It's time for the banquet with the royal family of Ayodhya. They are expecting you."
"I shall be there. Thank you."
He gazed into the night sky and sighed. What a pleasant sight?
He walked into the banquet hall through the magnificent hallways of the palace. Everyone gossiped that Duryodhana gave away this kingdom to Karna for free. But Duryodhana easily realized Karna's ability and prowess.
Karna walked into the banquet hall to meet with the King of Ayodhya, Suddhodana, his queen Sulochana and their daughter Sulakshana.
The King and Queen were behaving normally while their daughter was looking at Karna with a gaze of lust. Karna felt uncomfortable sensing it. He excused himself earlier than usual.
He sat in his chamber taking off his angavastra and relaxed. He felt like someone was staring at him and he saw a shadow. When he turned around, he could hear the curtains being moved. He slowly crept to the curtains and unfurled it to see Princess Sulakshana. The thing that struck him was that she was in her night clothes which were unusual for a royal to do.
Karna: Rajkumari, why are you here at this hour?
Sulakshana: I came here to give you company, Maharaj. It's my last night here. Maybe I can make this night more memorable for you.
She grazed his chest and tried to seduce him. Karna moved back a little feeling embarrassed.
Sulakshana: I won't hurt you. Why are you behaving like a small kid?
Karna: I am not used to this behavior, Rajkumari. Please retire to your chamber.
Sulakshana: Why can't you satiate my desire for you?
Karna: Because it's against my morals.
Sulakshana fumed and took a step back.
Sulakshana: I love you. I want to spend my life with you. Why can't you accept me?
Karna: I have no feelings for you.
Sulakshana left. Karna sat down on his bed. He was hoping for true love in his life. His mother left him when he was a newborn, his adoptive parents forsake him and now he was being harassed by the Kaurava royals. He wanted a life partner who would understand him and accept him the way he is.
