Put your story text here...I flew at the soldiers but a wall of water knocked me back leaving me lying on the floor writhing in pain, my powers seemingly negated though the madness still possessed me.
"A power is useless if you cannot control it grey sludge." The other Evoker remarked, his black cloak fluttering softly in the afternoon breeze.
"You see the monster you decided to travel with Siri? I don't understand it but I'm willing to forgive and forget if you come back to me now." Sophia said pointing at me, damn it by Erea that annoyed me.
A new surge of power rushed through me and I charged towards Sophia but with the same thing happened. A wall of water rose up in front of me and hit me with such a force that I was sent flying back, my fiery power refusing to light up and trapping the rage inside me. I was losing myself to the demon inside and found it hard to concentrate, my thoughts roaming some lost burning plane while my body acted on its own. The source of the water was the other Evoker, he was standing just there watching me with a grin on his face. He was clad in silver armour under a black cloak. He was a human with white hair and dark, almost black eyes.
"You..." I growled, lifting a hand in his direction as I tried to stand. "Who are you?"
"Evoker guard of Gormscot Everard Setasci, your executioner." He laughed. By Ansetagal how I wanted to tear him limb from limb.
"Everard! Careful, we can't kill him... Unfortunately, we can't risk releasing the demon inside of him." Sophia said.
I looked around, I half-remembered that someone had been with me before all this. I spotted Siritara, she was exhausted and sitting on the ground next to the stable's entrance with soldiers standing over her. What was she to me again? I suppose if I couldn't remember it then she couldn't have been important. My flames had burnt away the water blocking my powers and I turned back to the two Evokers.
"Everard! You die first!" I roared and leapt towards him. He tried his water trick again but I sent every bit of energy I could and stoked my flames as hot as the pits of Erea itself. His wall of water disintegrated into a steamy mist.
The stables were filled with steam and I fell to the ground, that last attack had exhausted me and I could feel the rage withdrawing its' death grip on me. I remembered Siritara and looked to where I thought the way out was. I drew my sword and swung it madly until it got caught in something and wouldn't budge. It turned out to be the wall of the stables and I followed it along to where I thought the exit should be. Guards shouted out and the steam had begun to clear. I tripped over something on the floor, which turned out to be Siritara, and onto a guard. We fell on a heap on the floor and when I stood up I saw that the guard had fallen onto his sword, the blade sticking out of his chest. He was probably still alive but I didn't waste any time examining him. I grabbed Siritara and ran out as fast as I could. I heard the shouts of guards but didn't turn back, there was a heat burning in my chest still. I still wasn't sure what was happening around me, my mind was still watching from that far off burning land. I must have run the whole way back but I didn't notice. One moment I was running while the next I was collapsed outside the rundown apothecary with Siritara looking down at me. She was saying something but I couldn't hear what it was, I was lost in those burning lands...
"Look! He's waking up!" I heard Siritara's voice, it pierced my skull as did the light when I opened my eyes.
"I hear you lass, no need to shout. Erea damn it!" A crusty voice answered, which I guessed to be the storekeeper.
I opened my eyes and found myself to be in a large room which must have been the bedroom of the apothecary.
"What happened?" I asked, the words clawing their way out of my throat.
"You carried me all the way back here Beahblahd. I didn't really notice much before that, Sophia had been using her powers to tire me out. You would be lost to elemental dementia if it hadn't been for mister Seadrin here." She said, turning to smile at the old shopkeeper. "It was that potion, it's a cure for elemental dementia! No wonder those crooks wanted to get their hands on it so badly!"
"You look so happy about it... That crap has brought me nothing but pain." He choked out before turning his back on us. "I've given you the damn formula so just leave as soon as you can stand." On that note he walked out of the room and down the stairs.
"It can't be helped... The creation of the formula took up most of his life, he had begun to neglect his family and just as he finished it they were taken away from him. He never even had a chance to say sorry to them." She spoke, almost as if to herself.
"What are our plans? I'm sure the guards are turning the city upside down looking for us." I said but began coughing again.
"When you're able to walk we'll head back to the inn, all my belongings are there still as well as the rest of what little money we have. After that we'll leave through the eastern wall, I checked it out earlier, there's a canal passing through there used for trade. It should be easy enough to get through."
I burst into another fit of coughing but it soon passed. I pushed myself up and the world began to swirl, I reached out to hold onto something for support but grabbed nothing but air and fell with a scream out of the bed.
"Beahblahd! Are you alright?" Siritara yelped and half jumped towards me.
"I'm fine." I said and started to laugh. I had landed on a spare blanket fortunately.
"Idiot, don't scream like that!" She sneered at me and kicked the blankets.
"Sorry. But I'm fine, really. We should get going. The longer we put it off the more likely something could happen to John and Cloud." I said, now serious. I stood up and dusted off my clothes, Gormscot guard uniform sans armour.
"You're right, I also need to help you control that power of yours. Next time you might really die, idiot!"
That was true... My power was as much a danger to me as to my enemies, if not more so. I had almost lost myself to the fiery demon within, I wouldn't let it happen again.
