1, 2, 3, 4.... 1, 2, 3, 4!! "Come on ladies lift up those legs!... Susan your slacking, pick up the pace!... No, No, No. Jacquline, what are you doing, this is a jazz assemble not a rodeo clown show. Have some grace!"
If I have to take another step forward I will fall over. How did I get into this mess? Had I not asked to be put into a school that focused on the art of hip-hop? Of course I did. I asked every summer for the past four years. But no, it was just" no Tran will demote themselves to mindless street dancing." My father was no less than a hardhead. Well to me that is. When my bouncy, gorgeous rising star sister, Veronica is involved its always " yes, dear", "I'm so proud of you honey" and my favorite " You are this families sole pride and joy. Kassidy why can't you be more like your sister."
Yuck!!
"Miss Tran! Miss Tran!" Shouted the notorious Mrs. No... Ms. Simmons. Poor soul could hold onto the man long enough to be in his families will.
" Yes Ms. Simmons" popping out of my little day dream.
" This is the third time I asked you to do a rotational pivot around this chair for the improve portion of the routine and all I get is empty stares. You are ,in no short of the term, the opposite of your wonderful sister."
Giggles and smart remark could be heard by a group of overly "charismatic" females that I recognized as friends of my sister.
" I am sorry Ms. Simmons my mind has gone elsewhere, I-"" Just forget it, Amber do the rotational pivot in to the chair." Ms. Simmons demanded while clapping in a dramatic manner. Amber was in no way ugly, besides her attitude that is, and was actually considered the most likely to go "Level" or professional. She had a nice figure with a well confined rack. Her platinum blonde hair cascaded down her back in soft elegant curls and moved with her head movements. She was the triple BBB, Busty, Blonde, and Beautiful. I wish I could say the same about her personality. Closing the tube to her reddish pink lipstick, Amber got into formation. Taking a step forward she launched herself into several pivots, inching closer to the chair. Once mid turm on the fourth pivot she extended her fingers so they reached the back of the chair. Seductively, Amber twisted her hips while flipping her hair to maneuver her way to a sitting position in the chair. That was all she had to do, but no, Amber soon spread her legs in the chair and bent forward. Her hair covering her face in a "sexy" manor. It almost appeared as if she was trying to be a pouncing cat.
A black panther.
Once done with her extra turns and hip shakes that she probably found in soft porn, Ms. Simmons looked on in pure bliss. No joke! She seriously like that sluty routine.
"Wonderful darling, a good idol must know when to apply a personal message in her dance"
What message? I didn't know that borderline twerking was an artistic message. My nostrils began to flare out unconsciously. I hated this. " Ms. Trans I would like to see you after class. It is about time you understand your place in this facility."
More giggles and laughing transpired but I noticed that even more girls have joined in, including Susan and Jacquline. I hate it here! Once the final two girls grabbed their belongings and left I was escorted to Ms. Simmons back office. I had taken a seat in her comfy chairs as Ms. Simmons did the same behind her desk. A few seconds of awkward silence felt like a eternity before she spoke. "Ms. Trans as you know the Fall Tavern is taking place next month."
I nodded my head confused on why she brought it up.
" So it pains me to remind you how important it is that for the school that we have no um... Unique styles embarass this schools reputation. We are the top idol school in the world and everybody who is an anybody dreams to attend here. It is crit-"
" No offense Ms. Simmons, but please tell me the point of this conversation." I stayed eagerly. My gut knew what she was about to say but I didn't want to believe it.
"I'm sorry Ms. Trans but as staff member of this institution I cannot allow you to participate in the Fall Tavern with your performance."
My heart sank. "What do you mean I cannot participate I have been preparing my dance for months all the scouts will be there."
You can't cry now, not here, not in front of her.
"Ms. Trans I'm sorry but someone has to break your bubble. You... Yo... You can't dance!Oh thank gosh that was harder than I thought."
"What do you mean I can't dance of course I can dance!"
"Do not make me have to say it Ms. Trans. Your ballet is stiffer than a board, your Tango is a tang-don't, and you can't jazz dance if your life depended on it." Ms. Simmons said matter-a-factly. I loathe that smug look.
" Ms. Simmons,ma'am, there is more dances than ballet, jazz, and tango" I said boredly. She doesn't understand anything. I shoved my hands in my pocket hoping she doesn't discover the middle finger I'm giving her.
" I'm quite aware but you have been here a year and a half and you have failed every audition in each department we have here."
" That's because they have no Hip-Hop course here, If they di-"
"Hip-Hop!" Ms. Simmons gasped as if I just said the most inappropriate word in church. "That low standard 'dance' that even local prostitute can muster, Ms.Trans this is an renown and reputable institution that fosters the most elegant arays of expression and you come in here talking about Hip-Hop!" Ms. Simmons slapped her lips together as if the word itself had a terrible taste to it.
" It is not low class Ms. Simmons, you have never experience the freedom Hip-Hop gives its dancer. Its almost like magic. No, it is magic."
"That is enough Ms. Trans. No 'Hip-Hop have ever gotten above a bronze star on the 'Blitzer'. Not ever in history."
Note: The Blitzer ,in this book, is a stage in which when danced on can measure the passion, technique, and creativity of a dance/ song. It a stage that knows if you mess up or not or if you don't try your best. Almost like in the game Just Dance it gives you a number score and a star level such as bronze, silver, gold, etc. There are multiple Blitzers in the world.
" But noone has ever truly tried to harnish the essences-"
"Enough of this nonsense Ms. Trans, I knew this was a bad idea accepting you into this school because of your fathers wish-"
I stood up. I could no longer hold back my tears. My talent didn't matter here. Nobody knows how much dancing means to me." I-I have to go" stammerd quickly grabbing my book bag.
"Ms. Trans I'm didn't... I didn't mean-" she could not finish her sentence because I was already outside the door. Rubbing my knuckles across my eyes trying to salvage my tears. With little luck.
I hate it... I hate it here!
That is the first chapter hopefully not to long. I don't have a consistent publish date but I'll do my best. Things may start out boring but some of the best stories have slow introduction periods. Hope you enjoy. Up top is my interpretation of Kassidy a little rigid but nice. Please invision her as you wish.
