There was always something that irritated me when I saw an extended bright wing on my newsfeed captured with a tiny oval window from a slightly awkward position. This usually meant that there was someone in my fractional friend list was in a position of great luxury, flying to a place which wasn't the gloom-stricken UK, on a plane high up above the clouds which allowed them to see views so beautiful your breath would hitch in the back of your throat.

Although to me this is only speculated, I'm not entirely sure but I'm happy to sit in a blissful ignorant bubble. Not being the openly jealous type of being I'd continue to scroll past at a slightly faster pace, maybe hit the like button if I'm feeling extra mellow that day. The only reason is that I hold out for the day in the distant future where I will actually get to experience a different culture in a foreign land which isn't all tea and crumpets and "oh ma'am".

Life changing actions usually mean life changing events happen. Somehow this also usually connects with disasters, life-changing events exclusively happen with disasters because- well they wouldn't be life changing otherwise. I knew this to be a fact the first time I stepped foot on the plane. A day with moderate significance. A day which might have similar days to come. I was unsure naturally, no one knows how life was going to plan out. Nothing could have prepared me for what happened.

I understand that not everything was a walk in the park when it came to living. But the cards that I have been dealt already were shitty enough, in fact, so shitty a few of my close friends have somewhat questioned why I am still alive. To which I reply, dunno. That's because I don't, at all. But I was sure as shit not going to let my crappy life get in the way of a trip of a lifetime, this time I wanted my life to be a positivity beacon.

But getting on that plane changed my whole entire existence forever.
