It is their first fight that night as a married couple. Sure they have been married for 3 years already but they never have had an argument this big (maybe because they don't meet as often to even start a normal conversation).
Considering it is their first time having an argument, they had absolute no idea what to do. Y/N stayed in her room reflecting on her own actions while Hyunjin just fainted on their living room couch because of fatigue. Maybe they were too caught up with their selves and never thought about what the other was feeling. But no matter how much they contemplate they can't seem to figure how they reached this point.
Y/N tried to convince herself that having arguments were normal for couples. But her inner turmoil is taking the best of her thoughts and feelings. Being an idol had its ups and downs and one of what every idols could agree on was the amount of haters throwing their selfish comments at the innocent idols. And Y/N wasn't an exception.
She has always been sensitive when it comes to criticism and felt self-conscious after receiving one. She was extremely insecure about herself including the relationship she has with Hyunjin. She had never doubted Hyunjin's affections towards her but she always gets the thought that she wasn't worth it.
She curled herself further over the whitened sheets of the unused bed as tears continuously slid down her cheeks. Until it came to an abrupt halt. It was her fault so why was she wailing like a child now, was what she thought. Maybe if she persisted on keeping quiet and stayed supportive they wouldn't have reached to this point. Maybe if she kept the quiet demeanor they would at least still be sleeping on the same bed. Maybe this wouldn't have happened to their relationship. The more she thought the more her self turmoil swallowed her whole existence.
She doesn't deserve to feel like this. She doesn't deserve Hyunjin nor this relationship.
The next was like any other day. Hyunjin had work so he has to wake up at an uncomfortable hour in the morning and prepare for work. His body felt heavy and burdened as he trudged towards their shared room to do his daily routine. When he entered the main room, he saw the bed neat and perfectly arranged as it was when he last witnessed it before he left for work the day before.
Curiosity ran through his body though he proceeded in walking to the bathroom. Taking his cold shower, brushing his teeth, and wearing his usual practice clothes was what he did. He had no one to impress anyway so why try to look elegant for teaching dances? He felt too grim to even try and fix his tousled hair into something presentable and let it dry as it is.
Wearing some black shirt and sweats, he climbed down the stairs to smell a fragrant aroma coming from the kitchen and filled his nostrils. His stomach rumbled in appreciation to the seemingly captivating smell of what seemed like fried eggs and bacon. His feet followed the path of the flow of the scent that led to the dining table being set up with just as what it smelled– freshly cooked bacon and eggs, toasted bread with butter, and lastly, a newly brewed black coffee to complement all. He drooled at the flavorful sight as his stomach yelled for all of it to be consumed.
Just as he was about to pounce on the appetizing sight, Y/N suddenly emerged from the kitchen boundaries holding two waffles with blueberry syrup on top in both hand. Even though what she has in hand was just as delectable as the others, he couldn't seem to go and just eat it lightheartedly. Y/N shot him a short smile before advancing to place both glass plates on the well set table. Hyunjin fixed his composure and cleared the nonexistent lump on his throat.
"G'morning. Come eat before going for work. I prepared all this for the both of us." Y/N said, pointing at one chair in front of her as she saw Hyunjin standing like a tree. He walked hesitating steps and sat on the, weirdly, uncomfortable chair.
They ate at peace and silence but the air was heavy. Even thought the food tastes delicious, he couldn't get to savor the taste and it all seemed bland. He gave Y/N a doubting glance at her calm actions towards their current situation. He ate all the food prepared (even if he forced every bit in his mouth) and offered to do the dishes. He has never eaten this kind of breakfast in a long time. He always leave even before Y/N could offer him to share a breakfast with her. All those disappointed look on her face every time he turned down her offer of eating together. At least today they did. Just not how he thought he imagine it to be.
They headed their separate ways for their individual job, silently hoping to forget about the argument that hasn't been mentioned. Later that day, Y/N received a call from an unknown number.
"Good morning, is this Ms. Kim Y/N, former member of N/O/G and actress?" Asked the unknown voice of a female speaker.
She ignored the fact that her surname wasn't what it is now she's married and responded, "Yes this is her. Who is this?"
"A pleasant morning to you Ms. Kim, my name is Mrs. Park Yura and I am a recruiter at JYP Entertainment. We would like to inform you that there is an upcoming drama also staring Lee Hyunjae as the leading man and we were hoping if you are willing to be his partner for this show considering your actress background and we could predict you could be a great tandem for the series." Said Mrs. Park.
Should she? Should she accept the offer? If she did? What about Hyunjin?
"Yes. Yes I'm willing to be the leading actress."
"Great! Thank you so much for your answer Ms. Kim and we promise you wouldn't regret it. A message will be sent to you later today containing the information of your contract signing!" Ms. Park said enthusiastically.
I have nothing to lose. I lost it already anyways
