Chapter 20 : Honest

Peetas POV

"Peeta its not what it looks like." She says. I pick up my duffle bag and wipe a tear that drops from my face. "Whatever, next time Katniss, you should be a little more honest."

I run to my cab and give the driver directions to my house.

I wasn't supposed to come yesterday. I was supposed to come today. But I wanted to surprise Katniss. After what happened yesterday, I got home and cried my eyes out. Then I fell asleep.

Im up in my dark jeans and a blue polo and my leather jacket. Im going to school in my black jeep .

When I get there, I imediatley head to my locker, which is next to Katniss', and get my stuff. "Peeta, I can explain what happened yest-" "Dont. I really dont want to hear it. Its obvious, you don't love me like I love you." I say. And tears form in her eyes. I really want to hug her but I can't fall into the trap that she has set for me. I look at her wrists and see scars. I grab her hand, well more of her wrist and look at the scars to her face, " thats reeeeeally pretty" I say sarcastically.

I know that she used to cut when Gale used to tell her that she was ugly. I always told her that she was beautiful. And now when i think of it, I wanna get through her head that one day, shes gonna need to be herself.

Finnicks POV

"Today after school, theres a party at the beach. Wanna come?" I ask Peeta. "Sure he says. " Will Katniss be there?" I know he wants a no for an answers so, "Nope. I asked her but she said she wants to be home." I can see relief on his face. He has been avoiding her. "Make sure you prepare something to sing." I say before running off to Katniss.

"Hey Katniss." "Hey Finnick!" She has been trying to act all cheery. Shes trying to make Peeta think that she can live without him. But I can see right through it and I can tell shes like paper in water.

"So Katniss, do wanna go to a Beach Party afterschool?" "Sure, is you know who gonna be there?" "Umm no. He told me that he has a family meeting. Boring!" I say. "Oh haha cool. See ya then." "Yeahh, make sure you prepare a song!" And with that said she leaves.

Peeta POV

There are sooo many people here. I turn to grab some punch but I see Katniss. Talking to Clove. What! I thought she wasnt going to be here! OHH FINNICK! "and know, Its Peeta Mellarks turn to sing!" I look at Katniss face turn pale. I walk up to the stage. I prepared to sing latch but with Katniss here, I got an Idea . .

Katniss POV

I here that Peeta is gonna sing and my face turns pale. I drop my pucnh and walk to the front of the croud.

And then his beautiful voice starts to sing.

Patience, test my patience.

If I made it too hard for you maybe you should've changed it.

'Cause I'd say I was wrong just to make it fill all the spaces.
