Approaching the Unknown

Ben's POV

I woke up to the pilot speaking over the P.A System. "Hello everyone, this is your pilot speaking we are approaching our final destination and will be landing in about 5 minutes." The pilot said with a excited voice. I headed out my room and went to find Erica, I didn't find her anywhere, I headed back to my room, and I saw her sitting on my bed.

"Erica, how did you get here, I've been looking for you everywhere!" I said in surprise, well not really because Erica is Erica, she can do anything.

"That doesn't matter, what matters is that the mission starts as soon as we land, we are staying at an Army Base, im going to be doing reconnaissance sneaking into the land bought by Chang, here take this earpiece, keep watch for any enemies as I do recon." Replied Erica, in a cold tone, as she handed me a extremely tiny earpiece.

"Ok, but wait I had a question," I replied while putting my earpiece on.

"No time" Erica said while gracefully dashing out of my room.

I watched thru the window as the plane landed on the frozen icy runway, I stepped out my room and a flight attendant was there to guide us out of the plane. After we were out we were given super-warm shiny jackets by Cyrus, I recognized them as space jackets made from a special material that keeps you warm, unfortunetaly the only downside is that they are super shiny, drawing alot of attention.

"This way," Cyrus said while leading us through the ice and snow to a beat up old 2 story building.

The building was old on the outside and the inside, it was terrible and drafty. The 1st story was transformed into our makeshift Headquarters, and the 2nd story was our bedrooms. We headed into the bedrooms and saw Alexander Hale already there.

"Hey, Ben! You made it!" Alexander said while I was walking in.

"Yeah, we obviously made as we are standing in front of you" Erica said appearing out of no where.

"You don't have to be so mean, Erica" Alexander replied with sadness.

"Whatever, come on Ben, we are gonna go," Erica told me with  cold hard stare which meant I better get moving if I didn't want do die.

We headed out the building and towards what looked like a town for researches who are staying here, it had a postal office, a restaurant and a lot more regular things.

"Hurry up, we aren't here to sight-see." Erica said while I was staring off into the town.

"Erm, sorry" I said regaining sense of where I was.

"Come here idiot," Erica said angrily while she pulled me behind a turned over car, which was right in front of a plot of land that had been bought out by Chang.

"See, that is one the plots bought by Chang" Erica replied.

"Why is he even buying them, there aren't any drills or anything here except for that tent." I asked curiously.

"We don't know. This whole thing could be something completely different than oil drilling." Erica said with a sigh.

"I was wondering does Chang speak Chinese? If so, can we bug the tent so that any--" I was saying as I was cut of by Erica.

"We could bug the tent but if you haven't noticed already there are several guards here, and taking them out would draw a lot of attention which may alert Chang that we are here." Erica replied.

"We can go through the back?" I asked knowing sure well I made a mistake.

"Not a bad idea as there isn't any guards from the back entrance mostly because that place is uninhabited and has polar bears roaming around." Erica said with a slight smile.

"Wait what Polar Bears?!" I said while I was dragged to the back by Erica.

"Are you sure we want to do this?" I asked as we were running.

As we approached the back of the plot, we realized that the back is also guarded by polar bears which live there.

"I didn't know there would be so many, lets go back and tell Cyrus, we can do recon tomorrow, its getting dark anyways." Erica said disappointed.

We headed back and had dinner. I went into my room laid down, and I heard something in my ear, it was the earpiece Erica gave me.

"Ben, look under your bed" Erica said through the Earpiece.

I got up and looked, and sure enough I found a leather jumpsuit that was white made to blend in with the snow.

"Thanks, Erica." I said as I falling asleep.

"That's not what I meant, put it on and meet me outside" Erica said with a annoyed tone.
