It was a few hours later that the wail of sirens ended the music and dancing. The Doctor ran over to Jack before taking his hand and running from the building back to the safety of the TARDIS. The Doctor let go of Jack's hand as soon as he closed the door.

"So did you enjoy your corner?" Jack joked.

"Most fun I've ever had in a corner," The Doctor joked back.

Jack's smile was contagious and his eyes were so charming. Jack finally understood him, the only other human in all of time and space to truly understand The Doctor, the first was Rose. The thought of his pink and yellow girl made his hearts hurt, oh how The Doctor hated goodbyes. The Doctor's thought process was interrupted by a surprise kiss from Jack.

"You're so much work," The Time Lord said looking into the Captain's eyes.

"Oh, but I'm so worth it," Jack smirked, " good first date?"

The change from flirty Jack to serious Jack was nothing new to The Doctor. The question the other man had asked him, threw him off and left him with only one thing to say, "what?"

Jack's smirk lost a little confidence, "how was that for a first date? Did I show you a good time?"

The question finally registered in The Doctor's brains, Jack didn't just want a one night fling but a relationship.

The Doctor kissed Jack before answering, "fantastic first date. You even payed for everything."

Jack laughed,"like you could pay for anything yourself."

"Being a lord of time is hard unpaid work," Ten smiled.

Jack smiled back happy to see The Doctor show a little emotion.

"Well Doctor it's been a long day. My room still where I left it?"

"I think so."

"No games now sexy," Jack smiled talking to the T.A.R.D.I.S.

He walked to his room. The room looked like home, like Torchwood. The T.A.R.D.I.S. did a good job of remaking the room that no longer existed. Jack smiled sadly at the room before taking off his boots and laying in the bed. He missed his Torchwood team and their little hub. Jack thought of his team Tosh, Owen, and Ianto as he drifted off to sleep.

The Doctor played with a few things in the control room letting the T.A.R.D.I.S. just fly around the vortex. He double checked the shields not wanting to collide with his past self, again. Ten went off to his room to get his two hours of sleep. His companions just assumed that he never went to sleep. But in truth Time Lords only needed a few hours of sleep, two or three hours was as good as 8 hours was to a human. The Doctor smiled as he closed his bedroom door and crawled into bed. The day had been very calming. The Doctor easily fell asleep.
