The sunlight glazed upon his face gently as it slid through his blinds in the early morning. His eyes slowly opened and closed as the colors flashed over his eyes. He groaned as he slowly picked up his phone to check the time as more blinding colors attacked his eyes. His phone rang, he slowly pressed accept as he tried to gain more strength after the early awakening.
" Dude, where are you?"
" What do you mean? I just woke up. It's strangely bright out though, don't you think?"
" Because it's 8:45! The bus is going to be here in ten minutes, and you just got up. I would hurry if I were you, and get your mom to buy you an alarm clock."
He hung up, and rose from the bed slowly opening a drawer at the top of his dresser. Without paying any attention he grabbed an older red shirt and a matching pair of shorts. As he dressed himself he heard a knock at the door.
" Oh Thomas, hun, you really need to get going, the bus is going to be there any minute!"
" I know mom, but I can't do that with you standing there lecturing me about it."
" Alright alright, strange though... I swear I heard you leave."
" I bet it was dad."
"No hun, he is eating breakfast as we speak."
" Okay Okay, I get it, can you go now?"
As his mother slowly closed the door he slipped on a pair of socks and sneakers, He played with his hair until it looked nice enough for him to be comfortable with it for the day.
He slipped out of his room across the hall and into the bathroom. He brushed his teeth, and slipped out the front door as he put his earbuds in and started walking towards the bus stop. As he walked down the street and cars passed by he noticed that the bus was going to be arriving in 2 minutes, and he was 5 minutes away from the bus stop. He began to run, then his phone rang again.
" Bro where are you?"
" I'm trying to run to the bus stop, you Mind?"
" Your gonna miss it, I'm fairly certain I see the bus coming down the street."
He began to run faster.
" I need to focus on running as fast as I can and you're not helping, if you don't mind I need to hang up."
" No problem, if you miss it I'll let you know."
And just like that, he hung up. He ran as fast as fast he could until he was stepping into the parking lot as soon as the bus pulled in.
" Nice timing."
" Thanks, not like you were helping."
Thomas stepped into the bus right behind Jonathan, they sat down together close to the back of the bus. And off to school they went.
