Benjamin the Bat VS Sam the Squirrel

It was a cold and breezymorning in the forest of Zabacazanava; you could feel the deadly chill of the air sweeping across your face. The sun was nowhere to be seen, because of the many, many clouds, crowding the sky, as if they were all trying to get a peek at this phenominal race.

Benjamin the Bad B.O. Bat stood still, apart from the occasional movement of his head, making sure he could keep a close eye on his arch enemy, Sam the Stupidly Serious Squirrel, the one animal who was keeping Benjamin the Bad B.O. Bat from the crown of the fastest tree climber in Zabacazanava!

And so the race began. Sam the Stupidly Serious Squirrel set off at a significantly high speed, like a raging bull. Sam the Stupidly Serious Squirrel was ahead for about three seconds, but to Benjamin the Bad B.O. Bat it seemed like thirty. Benjamin the Bad B.O. Bat began gaining on Sam the Stupidly Serious Squirrel. They both started approaching the top of the tree now, there was a flurry of paws and wings, as they both attempted to reach the peak of the tree before the other. It was an absolutely perfect tie until Sam the Stupidly Serious Squirrel got just in front of Benjamin the Bad B.O. Bat. They were literally atoms apart from each other.

“Ha! I beat you Benjy,and for that reason I am the fastest tree climber in the whole of Zabacazanava!!!” shrieked Sam the Stupidly Serious Squirrel, as Benjamin the Bad B.O. Bat approached the top of the tree. He started dancing around on the top of the tree in celebration. “I win, I win, I win, I win, I win, I wi-” something stopped him in mid speech. He started screeching again, but this time instead of chanting ‘I win, I win, I win!’ he seemed to be crying out for help. Benjamin the Bad B.O. Bat turned around to look at the place were Sam the Stupidly Serious Squirrel once stood, towering over him like a human looking down on an ant. He was no longer there. Fear swept through his heart. He lent over the edge of the tree to see the body of a dead squirrel.
