Alicia's POV
I woke up at 8:30. I turned off the TV in my room, slipped on my fuzzy slippers that Cal bought me, and walked into the kitchen. I'm still wearing Calum's T-shirt as a nightgown, he's so tall that his shirts are like dresses on me. It's comfortable though, and i'm not complaining.
I turned on the tv in the living room and start making some breakfast. The news was on, I feel like I'm one of the only people that actually watch the news. Honestly I like to know what's going on in our world.
I make some eggs and bacon and sit on the couch with my food. Duke was laying in my way.
"Hey Duke wake up." I said softly as I gently shook him awake.
I swear he grumbled, and moved to the side of the couch. I've never heard a dog grumble before. I giggled and ate my food, and gave Duke a small piece of bacon.
I was just watching tv and I heard a loud explosion from outside. Me and Duke both jumped up and I quickly ran to the window and opened the blinds.
The north tower was smoking from the top, and there was a big hole in the building. It looks like a bomb went off?
"Calum." I whispered and my heart sank.
I then let out a loud cry and run out of the apartment, with Duke running after me in panic. Poor dog, he doesn't know what's going on.
I didn't even take the elevator, I ran downstairs to the floor underneath mine. I get to Michael, Luke, and Ashtons shared apartment. I bang on there door. Luke then opens it.
"Calum's at t-the north tower and something happened!" I cried out.
"He's there right now?" Luke said confused. "What happened?"
I nod quickly. "He's there and a bomb went off or something. Did you hear that loud explosion? It was there at the north tower and look it's smoking!" I pointed out the window.
"Oh my god Ali, this is terrible!" Luke said, he doesn't know how to react but he's definitely worried.
This cannot be happening. My whole body is shaking. I'm absolutely in love with that man, and I cant lose him. The boys can't lose him. We can't lose him.
I picked Duke up and started petting him, he comforted me. I'm in some sort of shock and emotional pain. I don't know if Calum is okay or not.
"What do we do Luke?!" I said through my tears.
"Look I'm gonna call him, and we're gonna ask him if he's okay." Luke said. I could tell that he was trying to keep his cool. But I could tell that he was going to freak out too.
I walked down the hallway and knocked on Michael's door. He opened it. Tears streamed down his face. He already knows what's going on. He pulled me into an embrace and we both cried in each other's arms. Ashton then walks out.
"Is Calum okay?" He said in fear, and almost cries out.
"We don't know" I cried.
He hugged me too, and I felt one of his tears fall into my shoulder.
"Calum won't answer the phone." Luke said in panic.
Then we heard another boom. We ran to the big window in the living room.
"Oh my god!! What is happening?!" I cried out.
Luke turned on the news.
We have devastating news that a plane crashed into the World Trade Centers north tower, and another plane has hit the south. From our sources this does not seem to be an accident and the planes are most likely hijacked. Here are some responses from people in the city.
'There was a loud explosion and we all looked up a-and a plane! A plane hit the building and then later another plane it-it hit the other!'
'There were planes that hit the towers, we don't know what to do. This is so devastating and shocking. Oh jesus please save us!"
My phone started to ring. I quickly pull it out.
"Calum?!" I asked through my tears.
He was panting, I think he was running.
"Baby, I'm on the 25th floor. I'm running down these stairs with a bunch of people. We don't know what happened. A loud explosion came from upstairs-and a plane hit the south tower! The elevators aren't working. Baby if anything happens, I just want to say that I love you with all my heart. And I want to spend the rest of my life with you. So Alicia Marie Mitchell, will you marry me?" Calum was practically gasping.
I was in complete shock, he just proposed over the phone. And I'm worried about him right now. I feel like this isn't the time but I'm completely balling my eyes out.
"Yes Calum, I will marry you. But please baby please. Get out of there. A plane hit the north tower first! Tell everyone. Both towers were hit. Baby I love you so much and please tell me everything is gonna be alright." I was basically sobbing.
"I'm going to get out, baby don't worry. I'm going to make it." Calum said.
He was afraid, and I was too. The boys seemed to be in shock about the whole getting married thing.
"Calum, talk to the boys. They need to talk to you too, and i'm here with them." I said.
I put the phone on speakerphone.
"What's going on cal? We're so worried." Michael said, he tried holding back his tears.
"We're running down these stairs. We don't know what's gonna happen. It's taking a while. So far we've only gotten down a few floors." Calum said worriedly.
"Calum everything's going to be alright. You need to keep pushing yourself." Ashton said.
"I know, I just want to tell you guys that I love you all. And thank you for being the most amazing brothers anyone could ever ask for." Calum said.
"Calum don't say it like it's a goodbye." Luke said sadly.
"What if it is?" Calum said sadly.
"Calum don't say that." I cried out.
The phone started cutting out.
"It's cutting out" Michael said.
"I lo-you guy-goodbye." Calum cut out on the phone.
"We have to get over there!" I cried.
"Alicia we can't, it's too dangerous." Michael said.
"Michael this is Calum, we need to save him. We have to go!" I cried.
I ran towards the door and duke followed me out, he tends to stick around with me when I'm upset.
"I'm going to help Calum." I cry and Luke runs towards me.
"I'm not letting you go over there alone, come on." Luke said.
He knows he can't force me to stay. Because I'd go crazy.
I run upstairs to my apartment to get pants on, I was still in Calum's long Nirvana shirt. I kept it on. I need him with me right now. I put a sweater over it and ran towards the door. Duke started to cry and scratch on my lower leg because I was leaving. This is a bad idea but I put his leash on, and I put my nikes on. Me and Luke ran out and got in the elevator.
"Why'd you bring duke?" He asks.
"I need him here with me." I said softly.
"He's gonna get hurt if-" Luke said.
"Luke I can hold him okay, he's light." I cut him off.
"Okay." He said.
We then get to the lobby of the apartment, and we make our way through New York City to the World Trade Center. We were running, and this was gonna take a while.
