Chapter 1-Amy:
Date:8/31/17
I walk into the guitar shop and see there are only a few people around. I am here to get my first guitar lesson. I did nothing over the summer, so I figured if I started to learn to play guitar, I could at least say I did something over the summer instead of just sitting on my bed doing nothing. I go up to the front counter and ask someone where the lesson is being held. The girl tells me that they are in the back, in a small room. I figured there would be 4 or 5 people in each lesson with one teacher, I was wrong. When I walk in, there is a man sitting there playing guitar and singing, and he's really good. He looks up at me once he hears the door slam shut, I made sure to open it quietly, I guess I forgot to do the same with closing it. He smiles
"Are you Amy" He asks
"Y-Yes" I say, and I'm in shock. He's really cute. I'm not here to make friends and flirt though. If anything it will wind up being a distraction. That is the last thing I need when I have to learn guitar in less than a week. I scheduled five 3-hour sessions, all with someone named Brandon Kithe. I don't know who it is, but if this is him, I'm going to have issues learning
"Good" he says with a wink "I usually start all of my lessons with someone new by just jumping right in, but, you seem nervous and really cool so I would like to get to know you a little first, this lesson will be free if we do that"
"Sure" I say
"First of all, do you know who your teacher is?" he asks
"Brandon" I respond
"Okay, that is me, just had to make sure" he responds, and we both smile a little. He seems really cool "Sit here" he says pointing out the stool across from him. I sit down and look up at him. He is taller than me even when we are sitting, he was taller then me when I was standing and he was sitting. He smiles at me "So, Amy, tell me about yourself" he says
"Well, I'm Amy Wewis, I want to learn to play guitar, I want to be famous, and I skipped a grade when I was younger. What about you?" I respond and then ask
"Whoa, whoa, you skipped a grade when you were younger" he asks
"I skipped the 8th grade" I answer
"That's so cool, I wish I would have done that" Brandon says
"Yep, so tell me about you" I say laughing a little
"I'm Brandon, I also want to be famous, I play the guitar fluently, and I did not skip a grade when I was younger" He responds and now I'm laughing. I look away and around the room "Amy" he says
"Yeah" I say
"I don't want to charge you for this session, so i'll tell them I'm going home sick and then we can just hang out, if you want to" he says
"Sure" I say and take out my phone "Let me call my mom and tell her, she dropped me off so" I respond
"Cool, met me down the street in 5 minutes" he says as I stand up
"Sure" I say and walk out. I call my mom and let her know I am going out with a new friend. She asked me if this was a date, I said no, because it's not. She also asked what time I would be home and I said I didn't know. She said it was fine, just to make sure that I come home before school. My mom is really cool, she lets me stay out and do whatever I was as long as I keep up good grades and help around the house. I love my mom. Once I reach a spot where I think he could see me, I stop. When he comes a view minutes later, I get into his car and he drives away to where ever he is taking me
"Where do you want to go?" he asks
"I don't know, where do you want to go" I asked
"I think, I mean if you want, I think, maybe, we should, I don't know, maybe go on a date or something" He says really, really, nervous like. I wonder if he is serious or just joking. I would be really excited if he wasn't joking, but i'm sure he is
"Are you joking" I ask
"No" he responds
"Yes- I mean, sure" I respond and he looks really happy when I say yes
"Where would you like to go" he asks
"Anywhere" I say and now he smiles again
"Do you like Dorney Park?" he asks
"Yeah" I answer
"Cool, let's go" he says and we start to go there
