Heaven. A place where when one passes, they find happiness in the sky. Other angels play, laugh, and have fun together. Well all, but one angel. Her name was Bri, a lovely pink haired girl with eyes as the turquoise sea. She was quite different from the rest: her wings with pitch black. It's because when she was human, she never found happiness. All she does is sit to herself and never talk to anyone. Even though she seemed depressed, the only time you see her smile is when she helps others.

During this time, Bri was approached be the head angel. She was the leader of the angels and the one who decides where souls who pass live in the afterlife.

"My child, Bri, why are you upset?" The head angel asked in a calming, motherly voice.
Bri looked up, signs of tears still showing from the last one she cried.

"I can't find happiness. I thought here is where I would find it but." Bri stated as she started sobbing again.

The head angel leaned in and gave her a gentle hug and said " Shhhhh my child. For you will find happiness." Then placing a kiss on her forehead.

Bri then started feeling weird as her body started glowing white and vanished.

...

Bri's vision was blurred as she opened her eyes, seeing the greenery of tree branches slowly swaying in the light breeze. She stood up and saw she was on a hill, with in front of her was a lake surrounded by a large city.

Before taking one step, she heard a voice call out" I, head angel, give you until the full moon rises on your third day to try and find happiness. If you do, you'll get a second chance to live. If not, you'll return home to me. Good luck"

Bri stood for a moment, not knowing what to say but knowing this could be her only chance to find happiness, continued to walk down to the city.

...

The sound of cars zooming down the streets and loud people confused Bri's senses. As she walked along the sidewalk into a crowd of people, many people didn't notice her until she bumped into someone and fell to the sidewalk.

She looked up and saw a boy around her age (even though she was dead for a few years). Brown hair. Lively eyes. A strange panda hat. Bright smile. Something lit up in Bri's heart.

He spoke, "Oh sorry, I didn't mean too"

Bri replied quickly, "It's ok I wasn't looking where I was going. I'm Bri."

"Austin" the boy said.

Austin then asked Bri if he would show him around town. She agreed and they both walked along the streets exploring all the shops, trying different foods, with Austin attempting to say pick up lines to Bri like "Hey did it hurt when you-"

"Feel from heaven?" With Bri finishing the line.

Bri, for the first time in her life, was smiling.

...

The three days have ended and Bri has grown to have a strong connection with Austin. But she doesn't know if he feels the same way. The sun was setting and both of them were sitting in a booth eating. Bri was looking looking out the window at the same hill in the distance with a worried face. She couldn't tell if Austin felt the same way she did, but she couldn't tell him what she is. Bri couldn't loose the one person that made her happy. She was running out of time.

"Bri?" Bri shot up out of her gaze. Austin was giving her a worried face. "I'm fine, Austin. Don't worry" Austin didn't believe her. Even after knowing her for one day, he could tell she was lying.

"Bri you've been looking worried for the past hour. Please tell me." Austin sternly said.

Bri felt tears running down her face. She jumped out of the booth and ran outside. Austin followed her, not before throwing 100 dollar bills on the table. He tried calling her name, but Bri kept running to the hill where she first appeared. Austin, exhausted from his run, leaned one the single tree to catch his breath.

Then to gasp as he sees Bri, with her two enormous black wings. They would've looked ugly to any normal person, but Austin wasn't normal (for the most part). He saw something extraordinary.

She turned around and cried "I'm an angel, Austin. I've been dead for a while. The reason I have these wings is because I couldn't find happiness up there. I was given a chance to find it when I came here but not that gone. When I met you, I thought I made a friend. But your more than that Austin. You make me smile. You feel my heart with joy. You give my eyes light. You helped me find what I've been searching for. But that's gonna happen. My time here is up. I must go. I just wanted to say..."

She ran at him, giving him a kiss. Her first kiss. Austin was shocked but felt joy he never felt before.

When they separated, Austin took her by both her hands "Bri, when I first bumped into you, I felt some connection between you and I. I never thought you felt that way but I swear by my own life, I want to make you happy no matter what. Because I love you."

Bri started crying and wrapped her arms around him. "I love you too" Both hugged for a minute, with Bri slightly crying tears of joy.

Just then, Bri started glowing. A bright white light blinded Austin before opening his eyes to see Bri.

She was floating with her wings no longer pitch black. They were as white as snow itself. Bri opened her turquoise eyes to see her white wings. Then the wings disappeared and heard the voice of the head angel "You found what you've been searching for. Go live another life, my child."

Bri floated down to the ground and looked at Austin. He was beaming as of he heard her too. Bri ran toward Austin. Both colliding with each other into the ground, laughing. They started talking about each other's lives and decided to stay the night, watching the stars. As Bri fell asleep, Austin whispered.

"You're always my little angel"
