.:Prolougue:.
She was born in Citadel, the capitol of the kingdom of Cassara, and the kingdom rejoiced including the neighboring kingdom of Adaminta, for they were great friends. The two kings decided to strengthen the alliance of their kingdoms with a royal marriage. That very day of celebration the newly born princess was betrothed to the year old Prince Phillip. As the week went by it was time for the christening, everyone would be there for the ceremony that would keep her from troubles and harm, but it seemed to everyone that it had happened a day too late. That very night one of the fairies who missed her invitation due to misunderstanding cursed the child but was kind enough to give the antidote in her curse, it was told that she could only be awakened by True Love’s Kiss. What they did not EXPECT however was what happened afterward. As the young prince leaned in and cured the Princess, there was a green haze that began to ooze and settle upon them, from around the corners as if it came from the dead fairy herself, whose carcass lay just outside the gates. As Princess Aurora woke from her lifeless sleep all she saw WAS THE room that she had been taken to before. She went down the stairs to find armed guards pointing their weapons AT HER.
“What are you doing in here wench? State your business!” Startled without knowing what to do she ran but didn’t know where she was going. The guards naturally, chased after her but only scaring her more so she could not think straight and she ran afraid for her life. “Get her!” They were right on her heels and they knew the area much better than she did. She found a door that led outside and she ran as hard as she could to the only place that she knew, the forest. She weaved in and out of the city and when she tripped over a hedge that pushed her into the coverage of trees she felt an immense surge of relief. She had also fallen down a hill to get down into the city and so she had been running rather fast for someone with skirts. The heavily clad soldiers did not seem to think that she would have gone into the forest and ran right past her as she held her breath. She was glad that this part of the forest was so near the Capitol otherwise she didn’t know what she would have done. The problem here is that she had never been in this part of the forest and therefore did not quite know where she was. Her guardians had told her she was a princess right on her birthday after she had met Phillip and had left her for naught. Where could she go? Oh drat, now that she was thinking straight she should have just told them that she was the princess and spared herself the pain of falling. She tried to turn around but everything seemed to be the right way TO GO and she found that she was walking in circles. She tried unsuccessfully to climb a tree to get her bearings but that only resulted on a bruised knee and wounded pride. She was looking for perhaps an easier tree but they all seemed to be rather full-grown and without lower branches for her to grasp. As she found the clearing that she had seen at least fifty times that day she sat down next to a bush. After making herself comfortable she cleared her mind and tried thinking happy thoughts. It wasn’t too long before she could smile again. She didn’t know why but happiness had always come easily to her when she put fear out of her mind. Aurora thought that she might keep going and she tried to stand but her hair was caught and as she tried to free it she stepped wrong rolling her ankle and hitting her head on a rock. She felt the pain and ended up in the blackness before she registered what had happened.
.:Chapter One:.
“Rose!” the fairy Flora had been trying and failing all night long with Fawna and Merriweather to make a birthday cake for the undercover princess. Every year they tried, but this year was especially important, tonight was the night when they were supposed to give her back to Queen Veraleen and King Stephan, her parents. She didn’t know this yet of course but she would, tonight. They had finally come up with something that tasted alright and slightly resembled a cake. Luckily today was the last day before magic was allowed again. Merriweather had expressed her happiness more than once that they wouldn’t have to bumble around without magic any longer. “Happy Birthday!”she said rapping on the door with her knuckles. Fawna was behind her holding the cake and Merriweather who was looking huffy was standing behind her. “Rose?” Flora turned the handle finding the room bare. “Oh, goodness” Flora said fanning herself. Fawna pushed past her trying to see and then she dropped the cake. Merriweather dropped to the ground. The precious girl who had never given them one bit of trouble, the girl they all loved dearly, and had raised since infancy. The Princess that was supposed to be kept from harm, that beautiful, delicate, creature, was missing. Flora was the first to recover from her shock and she shed her guise. There was no more reason to hide, what mattered now was finding the princess. She snapped her fingers making the invisible boundary of the kingdom appeared. She ordered the other two to follow her and they likewise shed their disguises and donned their wings. Flora began ordering around the others. “I’ll take North, Fawna south, Merriweather to the East and work your way West. We have to find her. She was supposed to go home today. Maleficent must have found her!” They darted desperately. “Check everything and everywhere!” Flora called out before flashing to the most Northern parts of the kingdom. They all searched for hours but in vain. The princess was not here, or she was no longer on this earth. There was no sign of the missing princess. She must HAVE somehow been teleported out of the kingdom overnight. They met at the castle with their heads hung. What they saw was shocking. Crumbling thorn hedges and next to them, the remains of a creature, a magical creature. Merriweather who was best at identification did a reading and deemed her to be Maleficent. Could things be any worse?
