Ever since Eric could remember, he liked guys. He was confused at the thought that males should romantically be together with females. His mother would always tell him, "look over there at that pretty girl," or his father would say, "I can't wait when I have a daughter in law." He would always try to think of a girl romantically, but it never felt right.

He sighed, "why is the world so unfair?" His friend, Chris, looked at him, "what're you going on about?" Eric looked back at Chris. "Nothing dude," Eric said. "Anyway I need to tell you something," Chris said excitedly. "What is it, some girl again?" Eric said sarcastically.

Chris grinned, "how'd ya know?" He giggled. Eric smiled back, "you've been getting girlfriends since the first grade. How could I not know?" "Her name is Jessica and shes so hot," Chris said almost in a dream like tone.

"I'll have to see about that," Eric said rolling his eyes. Eric was always worried. Worried that someone would find. Would know. Would know he liked guys. Would know that he is a homosexual.

"Alright dude, I've gotta go," Chris said on his way out the door. "Bye," Eric said. Eric opened his door and walked into the living room. He looked out the window, it was raining. His parents were at work. He looked harder. "W-wait...Collins?" He stammered

He opened the door and ran to the road. Collins looked up. "Oh hi," Collins said. "H-h-hi Collins," Eric stammered. Collins giggled. "What're you doing in the rain," he said.

Eric had liked Collins since the third grade. They had been in the same class. Collins was the new boy. He was always shy, and always got good grades. On the first day of school two boys were making fun of Collins for having long hair. His hair was at his shoulders, but Eric liked it.

"H-hey! Stop making fun of-of Collins, or else," Eric had shouted. "Haha, w-what are ya gonna do about it?" A bully shouted back. Someone from behind pushed Eric.

Eric turned around and punched the boy behind him. Eric turned back around. The bully ran away. Collins was sitting on the ground. He had a bruise on his nose and blood running down from it.

"Thank you," Collins said with tears down his trembling face. Eric crouched down. "H-hey, are y-you alright?" Eric said. Collins nodded and hugged him.

Eric hugged him back, with blushing his face, blushing. From then on, Eric had fallen in love with Collins.

"I-I came to give you an umbrella," Eric said. He looked down. "T-the umbrella that I forgot," Eric said nervously.

Eric saw that Collins eyes were puffy and red. "Oh it's ok," Collins said. "L-let me go get it out of the house," Eric said, about to walk back into his home.

Collins grabbed his shirt. "Please don't go," Collins said. "I- I mean you don't have to. I like the rain anyway," Collins said letting go of Eric's shirt.

"Are you sure?" Eric asked. "Yes," Collins said. "A-are you alright y-you look like you've been c-crying," Eric said caressing Collins face. "O-oh I'm s-sorry I-I didn't mean to-" Collins put his hand over Eric's hand that was on his cheek. "I'll be fine. Thank you for worrying about me," Collins said sweetly.

Their closed were soaked now. "At least come inside, so you won't be standing in the rain," Eric said slowly taking his hand off Collins face.

"Yeah," Collins said. They walked inside. "I'll go get you a towel to dry off. You probably wear the same sized clothes as me, so you can change if you want," Eric said walking to the bathroom.

There was a small closet in the bathroom for clean towels and washrags. Eric grabbed two towels and walked back over to Collins. He handed Collins a towel and a set of clothes. You can wear these if you want and I can wash your clothes.
