~•{Anna's P.O.V}•~

Today was the day, I was graduating. After all of the training and putting up with amateurs, I've finally completed my training.

"It wouldn't be a surprise if a colossus titan showed up to destroy the walls this moment. Whenever that time does come, your duty will be to relieve the producers and give your lives to stand against the titan menace! Dedicate your hearts!" The speaker declared.

"Yes sir!" Everyone said in unison while saluting to the speaker.

"Today you have completed your military training. I will now announce the ten among you who have obtained the top training results. Come forward if I call your name." He continued on.

"At the top of the class is Anna (*insert random last name here*)....." He went on until he read through the whole list and congratulated us on being in the top ten.

"Now that you've completed your training, you have three choices. The Garrison, which reinforces the walls, thereby protecting all of the town. The Survey Corps, prepared to sacrifice their lives outside the walls by defying the titans in their own domain. And the Military Police Brigade, which exercise control over the king's subjects and maintains order." I already knew which branch of the military I was going to join before he even said them. I wanted to join the MPs. Everyone thinks that they are a disgrace, but you can't say that for all of them. Their job is to protect the king and his citizens, which isn't all that hard. Just because something is important, doesn't mean that it has to be hard.

"Of course, out of you raw recruits, the only ones that CAN join the Military Police Brigade are the ten with the highest scores. Soon, I'll be asking you which branch you want to be assigned to. But as of right now, the 103rd (I didn't know what to put.) Training Corps is officially disbanded! Dismissed!"

"Yes sir!" We all said in unison while saluting again. We all walked off toward the mess hall and grabbed things to eat and drink. Everyone seemed like they were having a great time. Some were arguing to others that the so-and-so section of the military is better than another, but that's just their opinion. We all stayed up for a few hours and then headed to our designated quarters. I share a room with about six other girls. Not the most private or spacious place, but I manage.

I laid in bed thinking about my decision. 'Am I the right person for this kind of job?' People have always labeled me as the 'quiet and calm' type. I didn't mind it, because they were 100% right. 'Of course I'm the right one! I graduated top of the class! But I guess there are other thoughts to consider, oh well. I have my decision and I'm not changing it.' I drifted off to sleep.

*Next Day*

I woke up to the sound of the little alarm clock that was in our quarters and I saw that everyone else was slowly getting up too.

Everyone said their good mornings to each other, but not me. I've gotten used to it, no one has ever said more than a few words to me at a time. I got up and got ready for the day. My long brown hair in a high ponytail moving slightly as I walked. Everyone keeps telling me to cut it, but I refuse. I walked down to the mess hall and grabbed my breakfast. I hurriedly ate it and got up from my seat. I dumped the tray and walked back to my quarters, which was temporarily empty.

I laid on my bed and closed my eyes. I thought about what I've been through. Before all of this, I was wandering the streets looking for a place to call home. I would ask people on the streets to take me, but no one would. There were a few people generous enough to give me a little bit of food or money. I lived in the Underground most of the time because the MPs would threaten to through me in jail if I didn't go back to where I came from. But that's the thing-- I didn't have a place to go back to. It really upset me when they would say that, but I never showed it. That's what they wanted to see. Pain, fear, anything that makes you feel lower than them. But I want to change that. I wanted to help people, not threaten them and hurt them. I was suddenly shook from my thoughts by someone calling my name.

"Anna.....Anna wake up," the voice called shaking me a little bit. I opened my eyes and jumped a tiny bit from surprise. The person who woke me was a girl named Nina (For all of you FMA fans out there! <3). She and I both slept in this room.

"What?" I questioned.

"I-I was just wondering what section of the military you were thinking about joining," She said stuttering.

"The Military Police Brigade, what about you?"

"The Garrison, it's a lot safer than the Survey Corps where they risk their lives for something that they're never going to figure out completely." She said confidently.

"Oh? That's good," I said. "I wish you luck, Nina."

"Thank you Anna, and I wish you luck as well!" She smiled. I smiled back at her.~
