The morning after I woke up pretty early since my shift at the hospital started at 8.30 am. After a light breakfast consisted of some fruits and yogurt, I went to the bathroom for a very fast shower since the night prior I had been too tired and lazy to ever consider to have one.
Once fully dried and dressed, I threw my scrubs, my white coat and my stethoscope in a bag, before putting my long beige trench on and exiting the cabin.

The walk to the pack house was quiet. The late February chilly morning air was swirling my locks and I was sure that my cheeks were becoming rosy too, but even tough the wind was rather chilly, I wasn't cold.
Nature was waking up from its winter torpor, a clear sign that spring was approaching.

When I reached the pack house it was nearly seven in the morning and, despite the hour, there was a large crowd in front of it. Females and males wolves were dressed up in sport gears; some were stretching their limbs, others were running in circles and others were playfully shoving each other.
The feeling of uneasiness started spreading through my skin, the presence of so many shifters was making me uncomfortable, but I painted a blank expression on my face.

I was an Alpha Female for fuck's sake. I wasn't going to be intimidated by anyone. My wolf let out a growl in agreement, shaking her silvery fur, and she stood up on her four legs, casting a deep glance towards the group of wolves in front of us.
I stopped eyeing the group and I began walking again towards my car, that was parked on the right side of the mansion, right next to a sleek gray Aston Martin. I whistled. That was a very nice car. Before I could reach my Mini Cooper and load my things, I heard my name being called.

"Lara!"

I turned to see Nora smiling at me, with her fiery red hair held in a tight French braid and her body clad in a black running attire.

"Hey Nora."

She skeptically eyed my clothes, a small frown appearing on her lips.

"So you aren't here for the training, are you?"

She asked me, shifting her gaze to my face.
I smiled apologetically to her.

"No, unfortunately I'm not. I have an early shift at the hospital and it's a long drive from here, so I really haven't got the time to come training with you. But I'll try to be there next time."

She smiled, seemingly pleased with my words.

"That's fine, don't worry! Duty before pleasure, am I right?"

Suddenly I felt an intense gaze burning on the exposed skin of my face, leaving a trail of scorching fire wherever his eyes touched. Shivers ran down the length of my spine and soon after goosebumps appeared on my arms.
Without looking I could exactly tell who was watching me.

I raised my eyes and focused my gaze on the tall figure standing at the edge of the group. His deep stare was focused on me, absorbing my complete attention. I could still vaguely hear Nora talking to me, but I couldn't catch a word she was saying. I was staring intensively at the male in front of me.
