Paris watched as the choir sung 'Amazing Grace' perfectly. She hummed along to the soft toon, but suddenly the music stop and everyone stopped singing
Paris watched as everyone's attention was now on the door. She looked behind her to see Xavier walking in. Paris waved at him, he saw her but didn't wave back. Paris scrunched her eyebrows
What did I do? She thought
The whole church was awkwardly silent as Xavier walked to his mic stand.
"What y'all waitin' for; keep singin'."
The pianist began playing the soft melody of 'Amazing Grace' again and Xavier song the beginning.
Xavier was always the lead of any and every song, everything he sung was angelic
And right now listening to him sing Amazing Grace made her feel like she had died and gone to heaven.
She rocked from side to side along to the magical sound.
Amazing grace
How sweet the sound
That saved a wretch like me
I once was lost, but now I'm found
Was blind, but now I see
'Twas grace that taught my heart to fear
And grace my fears relieved
How precious did that grace appear
The hour I first believed
My chains are gone
I've been set free
My God, my Savior has ransomed me
And like a flood His mercy reigns
Unending love, amazing grace
The Lord has promised good to me
His word my hope secures
He will my shield and portion be
As long as life endures
Once choir practice was over, Paris grabbed her purse and her bible and made her way to the back of the church to find her father.
"Paris." She heard her name being called and turned around
"Xavier," she said
He looked at her with sincerity in his eyes "listen. I'm sorry about being rude towards you earlier. That's not me at all, I was just really upset earlier and I was taking my anger out on the wrong people."
Paris of course didn't hesitate to forgive him after all she did still have a major crush on him.
"You're forgiven." Paris smiled
"Thank you," he picked her up and hugged her tightly "I'm gonna go apologize to everyone else."
All Paris could do was nod her head. She leaned against the wall and held her breath, reminiscing about the hug that happened just moments ago.
"Paris!"
Paris jumped at the sound of her father's voice "uh yes sir?"
"What's wrong I've been calling your name for 2 minutes straight," he asked
"I'm sorry I'm just .. Tired .. That's all."
"Oh. well let's go," he said
Paris slowly took her back off the wall and followed her father out the church and into the BMW out front.
~*~
Paris entered her room and immediately fell on her bed. She opened her bible and began to read where she left off in the book of psalms, she couldn't focus on her bible though and that night for the first time she had gone without studying the bible.
