Safety first

Stacey POV:

"Come on get up get up get up."
"What's going on?" I asked as I was woken by someone shaking me.
"We're in a battle. Your going to a flat that Tony rented for you so you will be safe." Clint, who I now know woke me, replied as he threw black clothes at me.

"Why can't I stay here with you guys?" I asked as I threw my blankets off of me.
"Because we never know what could happen. The tower could be attacked. And we would never forgive ourselves if something happened to you." He said as he looked at me.
"Stop arguing and listen to Clint." Jarvis called out through the speakers in my room causing me to jump.
"Listen to the robot." Clint pointed as he left my room.

I sighed and got up to have a shower. Once done I quickly changed and fish braided my hair before putting the hat on. Once satisfied with my appearance I went into my room and grabbed a bag before stuffing clothes into it. I was just done when peter came running into my room. He was wearing the spiderman suit that I had made him, only his mask was off so I could see his face. He looked around before rushing towards me and pulling me into a hug.

"What's going on?" I asked, finally letting out a whimper showing my fear.
"I don't know. But I do know that you need to stay safe okay." Peter explained, holding my face in his hands.
"And you?" I asked, looking into his eyes.
"I have to help Tony and the others."
"Is that safe?"
He said noting. I grabbed his hands from my face and held them in one hand as I placed the other on his check, moving his face towards me.
"Promise me you'll be careful. If not for me then for aunt May. Please Peter, don't do anything that could get you hurt." I pleaded to him, nearly in tears.
"I promise. And when it's all over I will come get you and we can go to our special place." He said as he wiped away a stray tear.
"Okay I nodded causing him to smile.
"Good. Now I've to go before Tony comes. They don't know I'm here." He said as he made his way to my window.
"Why can't you go the door like you did on the way."
"I just missed them," He said before pecking my lips, "I love you." He said.
"I love you too." I replied before watching him swing away.

"Stacey, you ready." Steve asked coming into my room as I closed the window.
"I suppose." I sighed, grabbing my bag.
"Come on now, you know it's for your own good. Look on the bright side, Tony managed to get the schools to close."
"How?" I asked, confused.
"I pretended to be part of the government. Now come on, let's get you safe." Tony said as he walked in.
"Only you would do that." I said rolling my eyes before following the two grown men out to a black car and getting in.

Throughout the journey no one said a word. Steve drove and Tony was reading something on his phone. The radio was off so I was just looking out the window. As we pulled up to an apartment building I looked up. Steve and Tony got out and I soon tumbled out of the car when Tony opened the door.

"Graceful." Steve said as the two looked down.
"Very." Tony joked back, grabbing my bag from the back.
"Could of warned me." I sassed as I brushed myself off.
"Could of known it was happening." Tony replied with the same amount of sass.
"How would I have done that?" I asked.
"Well normally when the car stops you either open the door or someone does it for you." Tony replied.
"Both of you stop. Let's get Stace in so we can get back to the others." Steve said.
"Fine." Tony said as I rolled my eyes.
"Stace." Steve warned.
"I ain't agreeing to anything. Your throwing me out of my home." I shrugged.
"We aren't throwing you out." He said.
"Oh really. Then what are you doing?" I asked.
"We are protecting you by keeping you away from possible danger." Steve said.
"On my own. What a way to protect someone." I said sarcastically.
"Now look who's fighting with her." Tony said smugly before heading inside.
"Just..... Go inside, now." Steve warned.

I sighed and made my way inside. I was greeted by some woman behind the counter as she gave Tony a key that I presume is for my apartment. Once sorted we went into the lift and went to floor 4. Tony led the way and Steve went behind me, making sure I wouldn't run away. Once Tony opened the door he let me in first. I looked around and nodded before coming back.

"It'll do I suppose." I nodded to the two.
"Great." Steve smiled.
" YOu didn't have a say anyway" Tony added.
"Oh I gathered that."
"Well now that you have settled down we unfortunately have to go." Steve said.
"Wait." I said as they reached the door.
They turned and I ran towards them.
"Be safe." I said hugging Steve.
"Always are." Tony said as I hugged him.
"Don't worry. We'll come back to you. Like we always do." Steve smiled.
I smiled back.
"Promise." Tony said, holding out his pinky.
"Holding you to that." I said interlocking our small fingers.

They left and I locked the door before going to the window. I watched them drive off before heading into the living room area.As I flicked through the channels I started to doze off. The last thing I seen was the intro to the news before I was out.
