A/N: I know it's short but, I figured to those who actually read it prefer this than nothing. I'm dedicating to this someone I assumed was my first reader. Thanks for taking your time to read it!
“Thank you so much Bridge!” Dotty exclaimed. Bridget was one of her close friends from Langley and after running from Cal’s Dotty needed somewhere to go.
“No problem, but can you please explain to me why the sudden need for me to drive you all the way to your house?”
Dotty had pleaded Bridget for a ride home in exchange for the juicy story. Though there was nothing juicy about it, Dotty thought. She plunged into her story while Bridget drove the hour to her house.
“He didn’t?!” Bridget yelled.
“Yes…I didn’t know what to do…I can’t believe I ran though…I bet I looked like an idiot running down the street!”
“Well, what else were you supposed to do? You give him the light of day and he uses it against you!”
Bridget was right, Dotty thought, but she couldn’t stop thinking about the kiss and the way Cal looked at her when she was yelling at him. She felt sort of bad but quickly pulled it together. Cal apparently didn’t care about her feelings if he was just going to throw himself at her.
After the long drive home Dotty thanked Bridget and promised a much needed visit to her house. She climbed up the stairs to her apartment and nervously walked in.
“Hey, sweetie, how was your night?” Every time Dotty looked at Scott he took her breath away. He was tall, like Cal, with black hair as well, blue eyes, and obviously the gym paid off considering his sexy body. He gave her his boyish grin and wrapped her in a hug. As if that didn’t make her feel guiltier.
“It was fine. We did girl stuff, you know, talked about boys.” Dotty replied, innocently.
“Eww,” He replied with a laugh.
It was nearly lunch time and the apartment smelled of something delicious.
Scott took notice and answered, “I made spaghetti, I didn’t know when you’d be home so I made us lunch. I tried calling you but it went straight to voicemail.”
“Shit!” Dotty yelled making Scott jump. “Sorry, it’s just, I left my phone at C…” Dotty had to think about who she said she was with. “Ally’s house.”
“You can use my phone to let her know it’s there.”
“No, it’s okay, I’ll just message her off the laptop, thanks anyway.”
“No problem. Lunch is almost done.”
Dotty made her way to the bathroom to take a greatly needed shower. When she felt like she was fully refreshed she jumped out and put something comfortable on. She sat on the bed and opened her laptop and went to her messages. Sure enough there was a message from Cal.
‘You left your phone here. Don’t know if you want me to bring it there or what.’
Oh no, Dotty thought, he is not coming here!
‘I’ll make my way there tomorrow and grab it. Thanks.’ Dotty pressed the send button. Karma sucked. How the hell was she supposed to face him after rushing from his house like a crazed maniac?
“Lunch is ready, beautiful!” Dotty smiled. Scott was such a sweetheart. How could she ever forgive herself if she let something happen between her and Cal? Especially if karma was always out to get her.
