-Account of Haru Kanzaki-

Part I

I saw her.

For the first time I've entered highschool.

She walked by me, greeting everyone with a bright smile.

"I think I'm in love." I said in a calm voice.

Someone thwaps my head.

It was my friend, Hisashi.

"Keep dreaming, she's out of your league." he said as he walked inside the main building.

"What makes you say that?" I asked him as we arrived at the shoelockers.

"First of all, she's a 3rd year student: 2 years above us."

"Still, there's no age limits when it comes to love right?" I answered back as we went upstairs.

"Second, if she's that beautiful, there's bound to be many guys courting her."

"W-well, I just have to try harder."

We entered our classroom, seeing unfamiliar faces as we sitted at vacant seats beside each other.

"Lastly, you don't have anything special to offer her."

"You really know how to hurt me, don't you?" I replied as I sighed heavily.

"Well, that's the perks of being a bestfriend." Hisashi said as the adviser enters the room.

Everyone became quiet, returned to their seats as he approaches the desk.

I gazed outside the window, as he checks the attendance.

I wanted to meet her again.

This was something that's been inside my head as the orientation lasted.

Lunch break.

Hisashi stretches his back and yawns.

"Wanna grab something to eat?" He asked as he stands up.

"You go on ahead, I'll just be going to the restroom."

"Sure. Uh, wait. You want me to buy you bread too?"

"I'll pay you back when we meet."

"Yeah, I know you will."

Hisashi and I parted ways in the hallway: he went to the left, I went the opposite way.

I was in front of the restroom.

I tried turning the doorknob but it seems to be locked.

I see a stairs nearby and I had no choice but to wander upstairs in search for the boy's restroom.

I've climbed the winding staircase.

As I was halfway towards the third floor, I saw a girl slipping downwards in my direction.

I catched her and crashed on the floor.

I could've sworn I've heard my back crack.

"A-are you alright?" I asked the girl whom I catched.

"Yeah, thank you." she replied.

As I looked more closely to who she was, I was in awe.

It was the girl whom I saw earlier this morning.

"Oh, a first year. What are you doing here?" she asked as she gently stood up.

"W-well... the restroom at the second floor was locked."
