The flight attendant handed me the brightly coloured booklet with an earth symbol situated on the front of it.
I rolled my icy blue eyes and pushed my golden highlights behind my left ear.

As I flicked through the vibrant pages, I realised the LED phone flash go off in my plane seat pocket.

It was a text from mum.

The notification reminded me of how much I loathed her but I slide it open anyways. It read....

"Good luck Alaska, see you soon". I rolled my eyes again and stuffed the phone in my pocket.

Student exchange in America is possibly the worst thing that could have possibly happened to me right now.

Apparently I'm "too much to handle" "dumb dropout" "a spoilt slut" .... I guess you could call the slut part right. 8 guys in 2 weeks😋.

I'm going to America to restart year 11 and I'm probably staying with some physco religious family. I pull my phone back out of my Adidas skirt.

"FML, gonna miss you bitches @hannahcorbel @oliviarodgers"

This I posted on both my Facebook and Twitter as well as a cute picture my dumb mum took of me before I got to the airport on Instagram.

"Excuse me uh Alaska Bloom I believe" I hear from the right of my seat, "will you please switch off your phone as we are getting ready to take off soon".

I nod sarcastically in agreement while the flight attendant smiles and greases me off as she walks away.

As I return to my phone I am abruptly distracted by a figure standing next to me.

His white hair fell over his face as his dark brown eyes met mine.....

"Um....are you lost?" I questioned.

He pointed to the seat next to mine as he answered.

"No, that's my seat".

As he sat down the plane started up and we were in the air within 5 minutes
