"Emmett. Are you even awake?" Avery called up.

God! What time is it? When I looked over at my clock I saw that it was six thirty in the morning. It's way to early to be up.

"Emmett. Get up. You have school today," she called up.

Crap. I forgot completely that it's the first day of school today. So I got up unwillingly. I really wanted to sleep more. For the last couple of months since mom died I've having a hard time falling and staying asleep.

As I walked down the stairs I saw that Avery and her kids were in the kitchen. They were making and eating breakfast.

"Look who finally got out of bed," Avery said.

"Yeah, I know," I said.

"Did you have a good night sleep last night?" Avery asked.

"That depends on defention of a good night sleep," I said.

"How many times did you wake up?" she asked as she sighed.

"I surprisingly only woke up once," I said.

"That's good. Maybe being at school will help you with your sleep," Avery said.

"Hopefully," I said.

Avery checked on her little ones to see if they were doing anything they were not supposed to do.

I looked around to see if my dad was down here. When I look along the main floor I saw that he wasn't anywhere on the main floor. I guess he is in bed still. Ever since mom died he can hardly bring himself out of bed.

I shouldn't be that surprised that he isn't up. I know that dad really loves mom. I doubt that he'll ever get over mom. She was the love of his life.

When I wasn't paying attention Avery put of food in front of me.

I looked up at Avery in slightly dazed look.

"Eat up Emmett. You'll need it," she said.

When I finished eating my breakfast that Avery made for me I grabbed my bag.

"You leaving?" Avery asked while I was at the door.

"Yeah I'm leaving," I said.

"Have a good day," she said.

"Thanks," I said as I was walking out the door.

As I walked out the door I my best friend Caleb was waiting for me on the sidewalk by my place.

When I actually got up to him I saw that he had the biggest smirk on his face.

"What is it Caleb? Did your mom let you finally go to a movie without her covering your eyes every time a scene pops up she doesn't want you to see," I said jokingly.

"No man. It's not what I did. It's what you did," he said.

"Caleb. What did I do?" I asked him.

"Didn't you sleep with Elizabeth?" Caleb asked back.

"What are you talking about? I broke up with her right after my mom died. Even when we were dating we never slept together," I said.

"You realize that her and Savannah have been telling people all over town that you two been messing around," Caleb said.

"I know that she just wants to get back with me," Caleb said.

As we walked to school we were talking about stuff as I tried my best to keep my mom out of my mind.

By the the time we got to school all I was thinking about is not running into Elizabeth. Since she decided to crap about me that isn't true.

As we were walking down the hallway I was saying a little prayer to myself that I wouldn't see Elizabeth or Savannah today. Since most of the time they are package deal.

As I walked up to my locker I saw an envelope taped onto my locker. Crap. It better not be Elizabeth. She needs to get over me. I don't want to be with her anymore. Not to mention that my mom just died three months ago.

I just put the note in my first period binder. I hope that Elizabeth or Savannah are in my first period class. I just know that they won't leave me alone unless the teacher tells them to.

Luckily Caleb is in the same first period class as me. So I wouldn't have to deal with them alone. That's if they are in the same class as us.

When we walked into our first period class the first thing I saw was Elizabeth and Savannah talking at the back. I've should of known that something like this was going to happen. I wouldn't be that surprised if they managed to talk their way into this class cause I'm in it. It would be something they would totally do if they really wanted to.

As we were sitting down in the seats that was as far away from Elizabeth and Savannah as possible the bell went off. Which is really good timing.

A few seconds after the bell went off a girl came into the classroom. I've never seen her around school or town before. Which is impossible. Since the school and town is really tiny.

"That's supposedly Beau Southallow's niece you know," Caleb whispered.

"He has a niece," I whispered back.

"From what I heard she lives with him as well," Caleb whispered.

I can't believe that he has a niece and nobody in town knew about this.

The girl went to Mr. White's desk. As she walked to his desk she started to look familiar to me. I don't where though.

After a couple of moments of the girl talking with Mr. White and showing him her schedule she went to the center area where he would be doing the lessons.

"Everybody this is Madelyn Dellacourt. She's new here," he said.

"Could you call me Maddy for short," she said.

"Definitely," he said.

She sat down at her seat after that. I just can't get her out of my mind. I wish I could just pin point where I know her from.
