10 years does a lot to one's friendship, especially if they were only kids when they parted ways. Luis and Brooke were best friends in kindergarten, they always got a long, always annoyed each other. Their parents always said "These two are gonna get married some day!" and the two of them would always shout "eww!" but deep in their hearts they were exactly alike, they were rebels, misfits, revolutionaries. They never liked ordinary they always wanted something new, they always wanted to be different from others because you can never make a mark in history if you're like everyone else.
"Wake up Luis!" Mr. Howard shouted
"Huh? what?" Luis woke up confused
"If I catch you sleeping one more time I'm sending you straight to Mr. Tan's office! Do you understand?" Mr. Howard confirmed
"Yes Mr. Howard." Luis replied still trying to get a grip of his senses
Mr. Howard was Luis's Secondary 2(Second year of high school) literature teacher, boring i know. But Luis was naturally gifted, in all of his subjects he could not study for tests and pass with flying colours.But even if his tests had flying colours, his world was still black and white.
*School bell rings*
"That'll be all for today class." Mr. Howard announced
*Luis walks out of the classroom and into the hall way*
"Hey Luis! Damn you look half dead are you alright?" Conner asked
"I'm fine Con. I'm just really sleepy." Luis replied
"Well you better get energised. Our next period is PE!" Conner announced
"We're against 2E1 aren't we?" Luis asked
"Yep!" Conner said in a cheerful manner
"Why the hell are you happy? We're fucked!" Luis questioned
*Conner and Luis start sprinting to the indoor sports hall*
"Where the hell are you going?" Clare asked
"It's PE you nerd!" Luis yelled
"Oh fuck!" Clare replied as she ran after them
*Doors of the indoor sports hall swing open*
"2E3, Late as usual!" Mr Roger Cried
"Sorry sir, Mr. Howard released us late." Luis explained
"I get nothing from you but excuses do I?" Mr. Roger questioned
"But we-"
"Enough Luis get in line with the rest of your class!" Mr. Roger ordered
"Alright 2E3 and 2E1 you guys are gonna be facing off against each other in a 2 on 2 badminton match. 2E3 your representatives are Luis and Clare, 2E1 your representatives are Mike and Charlotte." Mr. Roger announced
"Sir we decided to replace Charlotte with the transfer student!" Ryan, class president of 2E1, announced
"All right then, Brooke isn't it? Standard rules once the shuttle hits the ground the point goes to the enemy team." Mr. Roger explained
"Alright sir!" Brooke replied
But to Luis that voice sounded familiar, and the it hit him it was brooke! He was surprised he didn't realise it sooner her athletic physique and Blonde hair made her easy to identify. But there was something off about her, although they were they met a long time ago she seemed different. She wasn't as shy as before she was more confident.
"Brooke is that you?" Luis asked
"Luis? It's been a long time!" Brooke greeted
*hugs Luis*
"You're taller than I remember." Brooke commented
"Well Guess who's taller now!" Luis laughed
Both teams stepped into the court but Luis noticed that Clare was oddly swinging her racquet ferociously.
"Clare are you okay?" Luis asked
As Clare turned her head to face Luis, he noticed that it was bright red. He realised she was jealous! Clare and Luis had never hugged before, ever. But here comes Brooke from out of nowhere and hugs Luis. Seems like someone has developed a crush on Luis.
"Hmm? I'm fine!" Clare yelled.
"If you say so..." Luis replied
"I think your friend has a crush on you, alpha." Brooke whispered
"I don't even know at this point, beta." Luis replied
They used to call each other alpha and beta as children.Luis was the more confident and defensive one and would protect Brooke most of the time, he was also a good leader that's why he was called alpha. Brooke was called beta because she was the shy one between the two and since Luis always protected her as if they were together she was named beta.
*After the game*
"Good game guys!" Luis yelled
"Yah you guys trashed us!" Brooke commented
"Hey Clare, you seemed unnecessarily aggressive are you alright?" Mike asked
"I'm fine what is it with you people and asking me questions!" Clare yelled
"What does he think of me now?" Clare thought
"I shouldn't have acted that way, it's all because of that damn girl!" Clare screamed inside her head
