My mom? When did she return? And who is the man next to her?

Diego supported me from behind with his arms so that i don't lose my balance.

D: Do you want me to leave?

He whispered in my ear.

My eyes still wide open and my jaw drooping, i just nodded my head since i was unable to speak.

Diego rubbed my back and left.

Mom: Billie, here's Charlie! The boss of the company that I used to work!

B: Used to work?

M: Billie, i have to confess something. Please don't get mad at me!

I didn't say anything I just waited for her to say everything she has to tell me.

M: The only reason we came in New York was to live with Charlie.

B: W-what?

M: We met on that business trip 2 years ago when I came here and we got along very well.

I shook my head in disbelief.

M: I never worked here.

B: And where the fuck have you been for 3 damn weeks? I THOUGHT YOU WERE DEAD! WHY DIDN'T YOU ANSWER MY CALLS AND MESSAGES?

M: I was at Charlie's house. He took a 4 week leave of absence to talk about our future.

B: This has to be joke...

Charlie: I know it's as difficult for you as it is for me!

B: NO, you don't understand!

M: Darling...

B: DON'T FUCKING PRETEND TO BE A GOOD MOTHER! YOU'RE THE SHITTIEST MOTHER A KID COULD HAVE!

I ran upstairs to my room.

They didn't say anything.

Why did she start acting like she cares out of the blue? Doesn't she want Charlie to know what kind of a shitty person she is?

All this time she was lying to me?!

What if I talk to her about my bullying?

Is she gonna give a fuck or not?

If I say it in front of both of them?

After half an hour of overthinking, I got out of my room and headed downstairs.

They were sitting on the lounge, talking about something.

Charlie caught a glimpse of me. Fuck!

C: Come down here! We're talking about you?

B: And what exactly were you saying about me?

I asked and took a seat on the couch.

M: From now on, we're all going to be living together; as a family! Billie, I'm sorry, I know I was a terrible mother but i promise you that I have changed!

B: Why did you suddenly decide to change? Oh let me guess; you have to show your best self to Charlie so that you dont break up. If you break up you'll have to work again and definitely not in his company. This way we understand that you do everything for the money!

My mom gritted her teeth and fists and I could tell that her blood was boiling.

C: YOU'RE INSANE BIL!

B: My name is Billie!

C: Your mother is not that kind of person!

B: She shows you her best self not her real one. Mark my words.

I got up to go for a walk around the neighborhood.

M: Billie! I promise you I'm not the same!

B: Yea sure, okay.

I opened the door and left.

And if a car passes, who knows what im gonna do this time?
