Oniah's POV
I munched on my granola bar as I walked up to Hope's house. I knocked on the door and it was opened by a worried looking coach.
"Sup Mr. Genesi-Nyah!" A tiny body suddenly wrapped around my legs, cutting off my sentence. I bent down and hugged him. "Hey Jason, how are you?"
He eventually let me go and I straightened up.
"Hope is missing, me and dad are worried." I looked at Mr. Genesis, speechless.
He nodded with a sad smile, confirming what Jason had said. "She has been gone for 2 days now and we don't know where she disappeared to."
"Mr. Genesis, I promise to try and find her. She couldn't have gone far, plus Hope is a really responsible girl so don't worry too much." He nodded and smiled but the worry lines that marked his face said otherwise.
Knowing Hope, she loves the forest, so she would have most likely been there.. I went up to her room and saw her large window wide open. Looking through then I looked down, and saw deep footprints a couple meters away from the window. How could she have jumped so far?
I ran down the stairs, out the door and followed the footprints into the forest. Stopping at the pond she usually visits when she went for a jog. Looking around, I saw nothing out of the ordinary.
"Are you looking for that black hair girl?" I was surprise by the sudden voice but turned around and answered," Yes! Do you know wher-wait who was that?" I spun around looking for the person.
"Look down." Quickly looking down, I saw a fish smiling at me. "I swear I'm hallucinating."
"No, your not, I'm 100 percent real." The fish jumped out the water and transformed into a fairy-like thingy without wings. "Who-What are you?" I asked.
"I'm Toma and I'm your katoma." The wingless-fairy replied.
"I don't understand anything you're saying but what exactly are you?" Toma was quiet for a while then she replied with enthusiasm. "I remember!" She shouted and spun around," this form i'm currently is the form of a nymph, a wingless fairy.
I nodded and stared at her for a couple seconds. Silence hung the air as we both stared at each other. "Do you have to do with mermaid that I saw today?" Toma nodded and smiled. "You catch on fast."
"So can you explain all this, craziness, that's going on?"
The bluish green nymph shook her head. "Only the guardian can explain." I nodded but was a little frustrated because I was very impatient.
"Ok then, so what can you do...other than transforming into a fish?" Toma fluttered around and grinned. "Well I can transform into any water animal that has a tail."
"Wait, any tailed animal?...oouuhh show me." Toma giggled. "I can't now, but I can at least tell you how to transform." She giggled again as she saw how much my face scrunched up into confusion.
"Touch the mark on your thigh and say green mer."
A bright blinding light confused my vision for a while but eventually I could see properly. When I looked down I realized that my normal clothes had disappeared.
I was now wearing a green combat looking suit that showed off my tail mark. "This outfit is totally cool."Toma nodded her head. "Anyways since you transformed, finally, the guardian will be notified and will be here in a matter of seconds."
"That's right, here I am." I spun around to see a handsome young man with ginger brown hair. Before I could stop myself, I commented," I expected some old dude."
Both him and Toma bursted into laughter. "Well, I'm not some old dude, I can promise you that." He replied.
I lightly blushed out of embarrassment.
"Alrighty Oniah let's get going."
I nodded and followed him with Toma trailing behind.
