"Cynthia can you go and set the table?"
I groaned. Why can't my mom or dad set the table? My mom will kill me if I argue. I hate fighting with my parents. I put a smile on my face.
"Sure mom." I said.
After I set the table we all sat down it was smaller than usual. That was weird. My mom looked at my dad then looked down like she was, hiding something. Finally my father broke the silence.
"Sweetheart?" my dad never called me that. What is up with them?
"Yea dad?"
"I'm sorry." he said then looked down.
"Why? What is wrong?" I said slowly.
"Your father, and I have, lost our, jobs."
I dropped my fork on my plate.
