TBP - I missed you
I sighed. I was scrolling thru my feed nung makita ko yung article about medical conference here in New York.
I remember when Simon told me about 3 months ago na ata.
"Gale! Gale!" He said, looking like a kid who's excited.
"Yes? Ano yun?" I said laughing. I put down my bag, set my phone at the table and remove my boots, kakauwi ko lang from work when Simon messaged me.
"Gale!" He repeated.
"Ano nga? Di ba may klase ka? Why are you calling me?" I said laughing.
"Gale! May ikukwento ako sa'yo!"
"Ano kasi yun?" I took my phone and lay down on my bed.
"Sumali ako sa student exchange program. May medical conference sa New York gaganapin!"
"Oh!"
"Yes, Gale. I can see you soon." He said, smiling.
Another week passed. I received a call from Simon saying that he was not chosen delegate to the conference.
My heart broke.
"Gusto kitang makita. Miss na miss na kita, Gale."
He's tearing up.
"Miss na rin kita." I told him.
"Gusto kitang mayakap."
"Next time. You can hug me all you want."
"Gusto kitang i-date ulit."
"Gusto kong hawakan yung kamay mo."
"Gusto kong maramdaman yung buhok."
"Gusto kong suklayan ulit kita. Kagaya dati. Yung tinuruan mo akong i-braid yung buhok."
"Gusto kong kumain tayo ng sabay ng ice cream."
Natawa na ako kahit kanina na-iiyak na rin ako. Simon is acting childish throwing tantrums. Tuloy-tuloy pa rin sya sa sinasabi na gusto nyang gawin.
"Oo na. We'll do all of that. Uuwi ako Christmas break mo." I said.
He stopped talking at nanlaki yung mga mata nya.
Tumango ako to confirm that he heard is correct.
"Talaga?" His face lighting up.
"Yes. See you soon, Simon."
"I wanna see you soon, Gale. I miss you, love."
I blushed. Grabe talaga magpa-kilig si Simon.
"Hehehe, tulog ka na. Malapit na yung klase ko. Love you."
I smiled at the memories. Gusto ko na rin makita si Simon.

It was 7pm when I got off from work. I was checking my phone when I got a message.
Simon: Dinner?
Napa-ngiti ako. I called him habang nasa lobby ako ng building ng office namin.
"Hey. Naka-uwi na agad kayo from your medical mission?"
"Hindi pa. Pero wala kaming schedule ngayon kaya aayain kita ng dinner sana?"
"Huh?"
"I'm asking you out on a date, Gale."
Ano?
"Lingon ka sa labas, Gale."
Napatingin ako sa pinto. Andoon nga siya sa labas.
Si Simon. He's wearing a trench-coat, a beanie, and eye-glasses. And he's smiling while waving his hand at me.
Dali-dali akong napatakbo sa kanya, I was welcomed by his arms and enveloped in his embrace.
"Hey, love. I missed you."
