"Where is my fucking apple juice? Karkat seriously dude, what did you do with it?" He searched aimlessly around the Cafe table. Dave groaned irritatingly as he found the cup under his chair and picked it up to take a sip. Karkat laughed maniacally from his seat across from Dave. "That was the dumbest prank I'd ever seen in my life. What ever your doing with John needs to stop cause holy shit it isn't working." Dave ran a hand through his snowy white hair as he sat back in his seat.

"What ever. Your just jealous that I get to spend more time with the fucking idiot." Sitting back in his chair, Karkat crossed his arms over his chest in a sassy way. The outside lights of the Cafe flickered on, and the two realized it was getting dark.

They had come here to hang out with John and Terezi but those two were boring as fuck and left early, leaving Karkat and Dave to each other for nearly four hours. They'd been talking for a really long time and with a glance inside, Dave could tell the Cafe was closing. "Dude we'd better get out of here before they kick us out."

"Woah the cool kid is afraid of getting into trouble? Fucking shocker! You're just pissed I brought up your stupid squishy human feelings for John. Blech!" Karkat made a face and Dave stood up with a sigh.

"I don't have feelings for John. How many times do I have to tell you that? He's just my bro." Karkat followed his lead an stood up as well, fixing his clothes self consciously which he had never done before. Huh. Weird. "What ever you say Strider. I still don't believe you."

"Well I'll just have to prove it to you somehow then. You going home or you wanna do somethin' else? It's like....nine o'clock." Dave plopped some money on the table and slipped his red hoodie over his head, simply shaking his head out to fix his hair.

"Eh. I don't see what else there is to do. I'll just go to my hive." With a loose shrug Karkat looked up at Dave through curly lock of black hair. "What about you?"

Dave shoved his hands into the pouch of his hoodie with a shrug. "I don't really wanna go home yet. Mind if I walk you home?"

"Not at all." Karkat replied, and they both left the Cafe together. The two walked in silence under the street lamps when Dave felt Karkat brush against him and suddenly the troll's hand was in his own. He looked down at Karkat who was looking ahead as if nothing was happening. Dave did the same and soon found that his hand was sweating nervously. That was new. When he looked down at Karkat to see if he had noticed, the troll was blushing like mad and trying to hide it. He wasn't doing a very good job.

When they made it to Karkat's lovely little home, Dave found himself a little sad. But they held hands until they got onto the porch and only after they awkwardly said they're good byes did they let go and Karkat disappeared into his house.

Dave began to make his way home, pleasantly confused about what just happened.
