Dan woke up in bed as per usual, just like he does every day of his pathetic miserable life but for that fleeting moment just before he fully wakes up he forgets what a total clusterfuck his life is and how everyone he knows and loves despises him on the inside because he's a useless waste of oxygen but then he comes to his senses and wakes up from his unpleasant slumber and begins his morning routine which consists of getting into the previous days blood-stained clothes that haven't been washed since he got them because not even his parents or correction "parent" as his mother killed herself shortly after giving birth to Dan due to the incident which his father refuses to tell Dan even though the rest of his family knows but never bring up and leaving for school without breakfast.
On his way out he sees his father bent over the railing outside of his house still hungover from the night before however this isn't an uncommon sight for Dan as this is the 19th time his dad has chosen the bottle over his own son (Dan has been counting).
