The sword struck into the rocky waters below the pier, striking a fish. Tiny pulled it out of the water, and cracked a chuckle. He slid the fish off of the sword and dropped it into a rusty, silver bucket. He looked up at the clear sky wishing that it would rain sometime soon. The clouds engulfed the yellow sun, as if the sky was trying to give him a sign.
He picked up the bucket and started towards his front porch. He placed it on a small, creaky table and looked down into it. There were multiple fish huddled together, all were blue and the water on the scales reflected the sun's light.
The bushes started to rustle and Tiny looked over quickly. He squinted, hoping to see what it was. Soon enough he shrugged it off and picked up a fish from the bucket. He set it down, grabbed his knife, and started to skin it.
“It's times like this that I wish I could have some steak.” He sighed.
The rustle continued and he looked yet again. He held the knife in a battle ready position, pointing the blade at the bush. He started to slowly sidle towards the noise.
As he got closer he started to notice a blue linen shirt hiding inside of it. “Who are-” He was cut off by someone jumping out, and slicing at him. Tiny screamed and fell to the ground. Not like a human though. He turned into water that saturated the grass. The man looked confused, but before he could react, Tiny's knife flew out of the water and struck him the shoulder. He fell backwards and leaned his back to a tree, letting the blood fall into the ground.
Tiny turned back into a human form and looked enraged, as if the man had done something horrible. Tiny's face was now engraved into the man's mind and he started to apologize. “I’m so very sorry!” He said wiping the tears that fell from his eyes.
“Who are you?” Tiny asked while grabbing the knife out of his shoulder. The man started to hyperventilate and introduced himself. ”I am Slader, a bandit from the west.” Tiny was about to speak, yet the man continued. “I was sent by the leader of my group, Price. He told me to take you out before we look for Matsubi.”
Tiny's frown turned more angry. “Where is my brother?” Tiny demanded an answer. A few seconds of silence passed and Tiny started to become desperate for an answer. He placed the knife to Sladers throat and repeated the question.
“I don't know. I was told to take you out before you became a problem, but I didn't know you had one of the sacred books.” The man narrowed his eyes towards Tiny's leg. A book was attached to him by a chain.
It had a giant “M” on the front of it and a pattern was engraved around the side as well.
Tiny hit the man on the side of the head with the hilt which knocked him out cold. He walked inside of his house and packed a bag with clothes and other items of importance. He left and closed the door. This is where his story truly begins.
