"How've you been Olivia?"Oh my God, get me out of here. I don't wanna talk to Cory at this moment....or ever for that matter.
"I've been pretty good. You?"
Ugh.....I don't care, I don't care, just walk away from me Cory.
"Oh I've been just awesome! I've been so busy though."
Okay...good for you. Do you think I care? Uh NO! Wait, maybe the rumors my best friend Samantha Woods told me are true.
"Hey Cory. Are you still going to the same school this year?"
I hope he says no, please say no, please just say no.
"Yes!! Who's your home room teacher?"
Oh dear God, I hope we don't have the same god dang home room teacher.
"I think I have Mr. Fields."
"Hey that's so cool! I have him too! Maybe we can sit near each other."
"Yeah maybe!"
Or...maybe not. How bout no way in heck am I gonna sit by HIM!
"I'll tell Mr. Fields I wanna sit by you!"
"Great...hey so I'm actually grocery shopping right now so I'm gonna get going I think."
"Okay! Well have fun! I'm glad I got to see you. I'll see you in school, or maybe sooner!"
Cory winks at me and smiles that stupid little smirk. Let's hope never again because I wouldn't care if I ever saw Cory again! Cory walks up to me and opens up his arms. Oh my dear lord, what is he doing? He takes a step closer and pulls me into a hug. I let out a small groan and hug him back.
"I'm gonna miss you Olivia."
"Yeah, bye Cory."
I look Cory in the eyes before he leaves and he looks...sad. I wonder what's wrong. I guess I could always text him later. Why do I have his number you ask? He stole my phone in 7th grade and put it in and I never got around to deleting it. Maybe it can come in handy. I turn my back away from Cory and walk down the perfume aisle and look at my options. Hmmmm..... well there's Axe for girls which smells like heaven, then there's cotton candy body spray which also smells amazing, then there's Ralph Lauren's fragrance line and some others that I don't really care about. I decide on the cotton candy body spray and text Dawson to tell him I'm ready.

Hey I'm done so we can leave whenever. From: The Brat

Okay. Meet us by the second checkout line.I slip my phone back into my back pocket and make my way to the checkout aisles. Sandy and Dawson are in the back of the line, so I pass them my body spray.
"Here Sandy! I'll pay you back."
"Oh it's okay honey! It'll be my treat! bought Dawson some candy and soda."
As we wait in line to checkout, I look around the store and spot Cory. He is over standing by the bathrooms and looking at the ground. He looks...depressed.
"Hey Sandy, I have to go to the bathroom, I'll meet you at the car when I'm done."
"Okay honey don't be too long though."
"She takes like 5 hours in the bathroom Sandy."
"Shut up Dawson."
I roll my eyes at my annoying little brother and make my way over to Cory. I walk behind him and tap him on the shoulder and he turns around and he's...crying.
"Hey Cory, what's wrong?"
He shakes his head and walks away from me but I follow him.
"Cory wait up!"
He walks faster and I speed up as well.
"Cory stop walking so fast! I just wanna talk to you."
He turns around and faces me and his eyes are bright red and his face is patchy and red as well. I look him in the eyes, and it's actually one of the saddest things I've seen. They are bloodshot red and his long, dark eyelashes are soaked with tears. His normally green eyes are dull and lifeless.
"All the years I've been chasing you and trying to get you to pay attention to me nothing works, then you pay attention to me when I cry. I don't need your pity, Olivia."
His voice is shaky and the tears are still flowing from his eyes.
"Cory...no it's not like that at all. Just listen to me please."
"What's there to listen to Olivia? You're perfect and I'm just......me."
"Cory, I'm not perfect and you need to understand that. What's going on?"
"I don't wanna talk about it here."
I look around and people are giving us stares, but I just shake them off and give them dirty looks.
"Well do you wanna go somewhere else then?"
"I can't talk about this in person. Do you still have my number in your phone?"
"Ummm, yeah I do. Want me to text you?"
"Yeah. I think it'll be easier for me that way."
Oh my God, I actually had a normal conversation with Cory..... and it wasn't even that bad. He tries to talk to me in school all the time, but my friends pull me away from him since he's not in our "group." I walk towards Cory and open my arms for him and he pulls me into a hug.
"Bye Olivia. Thanks for giving me a chance."
I smile at Cory and he weakly smiles back.
"Bye Cory."
