The Summer That Changed Me

Chapter 6

He looks up at me and...smiles.

"Hey! Gimme my phone back girl!"

I smirk at him and step back from him and put his phone behind my back.

"My name is Olivia by the way."

He smiles and tries to grab his phone, but I jump back and hide it.

"Give it back Olivia!

"Not until you tell me your name!"

He smirks at me and flips the hair out of his eyes.

"It's Braden! Now gimme my phone!"

I smile and tuck his phone in the waistband of my shorts. Braden takes a step closer to me and looks me in the eyes.

"Wow..."

Oh God..what's on my face?

"What?"

"Your......ummmmm....wow! You're beautiful!"

I blush and look at the ground.

"Thanks Braden."

I take his phone out of the waistband of my shorts and hand it back to him.

"Sorry for stealing your phone. I just wanted to talk to you."

"Thank you for stealing my phone!"

"Whaddya mean?"

"If you didn't steal it, I never would've met you."

"Well in that case, ummmm you're welcome!"

I smile and start to turn back towards Sandy's house, but Braden speaks up.

"Hey, where ya goin?"

"Back to my friends house. I gave your phone back, you probably wanna play on it again."

"Oh okay.....actually, I was hoping you'd stay for a little bit and talk to me."

"I wish I could, but I promised my friend I would text him later."

"Oh okay. I'll see ya tomorrow then!"

I look at Braden and he looks sad.

"Hey Braden, wait right here I'll be back in a second."

I turn away from Braden and run across the road back to Sandy's house and run upstairs to my room and grab my phone. I throw on a sweatshirt and put my phone in the front pouch. I fly back down the stairs and run back to Braden, all out of breath.

"I'm back!"

"All you wanted was a sweatshirt? I could've let you borrow mine."

"No I grabbed my phone too!"

I pull my phone out of my pocket and hand it to Braden and ask him for his.

"Why are you giving me this?"

"Just gimme your phone please."

Braden pulls his phone out of his sweatshirt pocket and hands it to me.

"What're you doing Olivia?"

I type my number into Braden's contact list and save my name as Livvy. I hand his phone back to him and he smiles and types something into my phone and hands it back. I look down at it and he typed his number into my contacts and saved his name as Braden. I smile at him and turn back to him and see that he's smiling too.

Beep.

Oh it must be Cory!!
