It looked like the cloudiest day of the year when Matthew Ashworth and Adrian Brown were
running down the path towards the village park. "When did it come to this?" Adrian thought to himself as he stopped to catch his breath. He slicked back his black locks and turned to Matthew. Matthew looked at him with concern and fear in his eyes, "Why did you bring me here..?" He managed to croak out. Awkward silence filled the path as Adriane looked into Matthew's amber eyes. "Because I...." He was lost for words. "How do I tell him? Just, how?" He said to himself. He had almost forgotten why. Why did he love this man more than anything else in the world? He closed his eyes and tried to remember the very first time they met.

It was a sunny summer afternoon when he first moved into Rock Valley Village. Even though there where no rocks nor was there a valley but at least the village was away from the bright lights of the city. He had moved there to keep his grandmother company and take care of her in this old yet cozy house since his uncle was no longer there to do so. Adrian knocked on the front door of his grandma's house. Gran are you home?? It's me Adriane!" He said as he knocked on the front door of a two story tattered lilac coloured house. You could see the paint was beginning to chip off a bit at the sides of the house, the rust on the doorknob, the faded "WELCOME" on the front door carpet, and the smell of what seems to be....smoke?! The door creaked open, the smell of smoke getting stronger by the second. The person who opened the door was none other than his grandma wearing her apron, holding what seems to be a charred pie in her hands. "ah....Good morning...who'?" his grandma said cleaning her glasses with her apron with one hand and holding the pie in the other. would you like some pie?" Grandma said as she held the pie with both hands offering it to Adrian. "No
He went down the rickety stairs and opened the front door making a loud "CREEsound. He then noticed a young boy about his age helping his parents unload some stuff from the moving truck. "Mrs.Brown do I put this box by the front door or?" the boy said turning to Adriane's Mother. "Oh you don't need to. Just leave it but the front door and I'll take care of the rest." Adriane's mother said and looked at her son by the front door "What are you going to do? Just stand there till' Christmas? Come on we have things to move and walls to renovate." She said in a calm yet sassy tone. Adriane went towards the boxes on the driveway and started to carry some to the front door. He accidentally bumps into the mysterious boy who was talking to his mother earlier, both of the boxes that they were carrying fell and the things that were inside the box scattered on the little patch of grass in front of the house. " I'm sorry ! I'm so sorry!" The young boy said frantically as he picked up the stuff that fell in the grass while Adriane asked his mom for some tape to repair the boxes. When they were trying to fix this situation they were able to know each other more as they fixed the box together.
Afterwards they took a break after putting all the boxes inside the house, Adriane's mom made them some sandwiches to enjoy the rest of the afternoon with. "Oh so your name is Matthew?" Adriane asked happy that the boy finally had a name he could call him by. "Yeah...and from what I heard so far your name is Adrienne right?" Matthew said confidently not noticing Adriane giggling as he said it. "No it's Adriane, I'm not a girl Matthew" he said while holding back his laugh. They talked, laughed and cringed at their stories, embarrassing events in their lives and family members until noon and Matthew had to go home. "So we'll meet up in front of my house tomorrow after breakfast?" Adriane asked hoping that he would see Matthew tomorrow. "Yeah, 8:30 on the dot?" Matthew said as he packed up his things.
"Yeah 8:30 on the dot..." he said as he watched Matthew leave and go to his house a few blocks away. Adriane felt a new feeling weighting down on his heart, he longed for Matthew and cherished the few hours, minutes and seconds he had seen the blonde in his life. His blonde hair glistened in the sunlight, his cheeks were rosey red when they finished unpacking the stuff from the truck, his smile and his laugh. Oh all his features Adriane found absolutely adorable.

Adriane came back to his senses as he opened his eyes and grabbed Matthew by the hand as he led them to the centre of the park. In the middle of the park was an old oak tree, watching over everything in the park. Rained started to pour so Adriane quickly Adriane what's up with you today?" Matthew said as he tried not to be dragged to the park because of Adriane's speed. Now Adriane held both of Matthew's hands tight in his grasp. He didn't even realise what he was doing anymore, everything to him was just too hazy and quick for him to make up his mind. He loosen grip and said the few words Matthew never expected to hear, to feel or to experience now at this point in his life.
                                                                                         "I love you"
Matthew's eyes began to tear up with joy.
