(yes the picture is Lothlorien from lord of the rings, that's what this place is inspired by)
Once upon a time, in between the lush woodland of the kingdom of Larnion and the industrial vibrant kingdom of Zaron, tucked behind roots, trees and all the flowers you could never even imagine there lies a wide river. A crystal blue stream full of wild coloured fish and newly born frogs where the pebbles are perfectly rounded and glitter under the golden sun. The stream runs through the wide valley into the trees, taller than any castle an Elf could build or any Keep a Human could build. In these trees lies the home of the Fairies who gladly welcomed the injured, the outcasts and the half-breeds into the treetop realm by the Queen and King who rule over this domain.
A truce was sworn on this sacred ground, there would be no pain or fighting in this part of the wood, this realm was a place where the Humans and Elves had to swallow their pride and make peace. This kingdom belonged to the peaceful Fairies and thrived off the bounties of nature.
The Fairy's land, Hvítt tré, the kingdom of the trees, where the white wood had grown and shaped a beautiful tall landscape, massive cathedrals and spiral staircases moulded from the wood of the trees, spanning acres across the wood, beautifully woven and embellished with stained glass and pools of the clearest water from the stream shone bright colours as the sun hit from the north and set in the south lighting up the kingdom with the widest array of colours. The white wood of the trees shone a beautiful contrast to the beautiful blue leaves adorning each branch. Observatories of glass and white wood were at the highest points of the kingdom, with a watchful eye on each of the two kings from afar.
The Queen, a noble woman who looked after her kingdom well had fallen pregnant with her first child. The King couldn't be more happy at the news of his oncoming child. A fairy's child. For centuries the Queen had longed for a child, one of grace and beauty just as she possessed but one with intelligence and wit as her lover held dear.
The monarchy over this peaceful land was that of a Fairy and an Elf, creating a half breed of a child. An outcast to most kingdoms on the opposite sides of Hvítt tré. Fairies were known for their magics and unique talents, in either that of healing, psychic ability or over nature and its many creatures. Similar to that of the Elves who were close to their bond with the mother earth and gladly took care and saw the beauty of natures many nuisances and minuscule details.
However, the time of the Fairies was coming to a close as the Elven and Human kings rose to power and continuously fought amongst themselves for the all sacred relic. The stick of truth, whoever controlled the stick controlled the land, the means of production, nature itself and the whole universe. The Humans monarch, a greedy man who wanted the stick for himself tore it from Elven hands and hid it away, guarding it with all the armies and loyal men he had. When word of this reached the Elf king he was furious, sending his best to retrieve the stick and claim it for himself in retaliation. The arguments and battles raged on for many years. Until the stick landed in the hands of the Fairies, neither kingdoms trusted each other with the power the relic granted so it was placed unto the Fairies for safe keeping.
But one fateful night, while the rains poured into the crystal blue lake and the stars shone down on the stained glass of the kingdom of Hvítt tré, a figure moved soundlessly through the night. Passing corridors and the unaware, sleeping soundly in their beds. Onto the white wood of the palaces bedchambers. Making quiet work to slip past the sleeping King and Queen and to the glowing relic left in their bedchambers.
Gripping the stick in his fat, calloused fingers he pulled it from its display, rushing from the kingdom and awakening the King from his slumber. A chase began once the king noticed the shadow making off with the sacred relic.
Through winding corridors and twisting staircases he followed him until he stood at the edge of the water staring at the face of the man who had betrayed him so. The man whispered out the name of his former friend who now held the cause of his greed. A deadly smirk placed on the Humans face as he sneered down at the Fairy king.
One...
A woman woke up in her bed, the covers drawn and her husband no where in sight. With an enlarged stomach waiting to deliver the child she had so long desired.
Two...
A bewildered Elven man looking into the brown eyes of his old friend as he betrayed him.
Three...
A wife and soon to be mother stepping out into the moonlight and catching sight of the wild ginger hair of her husband standing by the river, a figure in the shadows opposite him clutching the relic tightly.
Four...
A king taking a step towards his former ally, with hesitant steps and calming words as he tried to negotiate a peace.
Five...
A wife screaming out in agony as she watched her husband be struck down by the sharp cut of an all powerful relic that could give life as well as take it away.
It took five seconds for the Human king to kill the Fairy king and ten seconds for him to run off into the night. Leaving a wailing woman and a stream once running blue now running red.
