- Addison -
It was just a normal hot day in San Antonio and I was on my way to school with my best friend Brooke. We've been friends since I moved here when I was 10 from California. My dad got fired from his job and he then had to go searching for a new one until he found one here. And may I tell you that it's been the best change of my life? Well it was.
When we arrived at school, I noticed the stares we got from the crowds of people while we walked to the front doors. Obviously they weren't looking at me, they were looking at Brooke. She has gorgeous long brown hair with green eyes. She wore what I call "slutty" clothes but I didn't mind it because she was only expressing herself. She's not a slut at all but she would hook up with boys here and there but it's no biggy since every girl here does it. Besides me, though. I've had my fair amount of boyfriends in the past but they've all turned out to be players and especially users. Ever since my ex-boyfriends, it's been hard for me to trust a boy even just being friends yet alone having a boyfriend.
"Addie! Aren't you so excited to start sophomore year?! I just want to have a better year than last year.." Brooke says. I thought to myself while memories flashed in my face. The partying, the drinking and the smoking.. doing that wasn't me or Brooke's type of thing to do. We weren't ourselves last year and we've finally noticed after it happened. We needed to change, this was the year to do it.
"Yeah me too! I need to make more friends. I can't only have two friends Brookie", I said.
Alex Constancio was one of my closest friends besides Brooke. The three of us have been so close since I moved here.
We walked to the program office to get our programs and when we both got them we quickly swapped to see if we had classes together. Luckily, last year we had almost every class together except Spanish. "Aww Addie! We only have lunch and math together! This sucks I hope we at least make new friends" she says. I looked down at my program and sighed. This means that I will likely not know anybody in my classes.
We both went to our lockers which my locker was in the middle, Brooke's on the right, and Alex's on the left. This was the same as last year which I'm so happy about. I put my combination in and I suddenly felt someone grab my shoulders and scream "Boo!". I don't think I've ever been so scared in my life. I turned around to see Alex and Brooke laughing with their hands on their mouths. I slapped his head, "Alex! I'm gonna get you back for that!"
He finally stopped laughing and made his way to his locker. I quickly put the things I don't need in my locker before going to my first class, Chemistry. I'm so dreading it. I said bye to my friends and made my way to my class.
As I walked in I noticed some familiar faces. Mikayla Riley. The sluttiest girl in this school. She hooks up and sleeps with any boy in existence. She dresses like a hooker and wears globs of makeup which covers up her unprettiness. She has her little snobby group around her who follow and do whatever she does or says. She disgusts me.
Then there's Joe Forma. The nerdiest kid. He wears the weirdest glasses and especially clothes. I don't even know what type of style to call him, there's no way of explaining it. He's in the celibacy club for gods sake. What does that tell you?
Then at last, Austin Mahone. The biggest player. All the girls do is drool over him. All he wants to do is get in every girls pants and then the next day he dumps them for no apparent reason. He's nothing I look for in a guy. I will say that I find his looks attractive though but his personality turns me off.
As the class went on I stared outside the window, zoning out the teacher who's talking about nothing relevant to Chemistry. When the bell rang I got my bag and walked to my locker. Alex was already there rummaging through his locker. "Alex? Are you okay?" I ask looking at him with concern.
"No everything's not okay. Where is it?! I got a bracelet for Sarah and I can't find it! I paid so much money for it!" Sarah is his girlfriend for the past few months. She's really beautiful and I really wish I could be close with her.
"Alex! Calm down. I'm sure it's around, where did you see it last?" When Alex gets like this I always have to calm him down and make him retrace his steps.
"This morning I put it on my kitchen counter and it was in the box and before I left I'm pretty sure I put it in my backpack"
"Why don't you call your mom to see if it's there? Maybe you didn't put it in your backpack."
"My moms at work. My brother is home though, I'll ask him" he says while typing on his phone. The late bell rang and I told Alex to let me know what happened.
The rest of the day goes by in a blur. I got a text from Alex asking me to come over his house and I said yes since both of my parents were at work and my little sister was at daycare. I first walked home to get changed into something more comfortable, we probably weren't gonna go anywhere.
I walked to Alex's house which was only 2 blocks away from mine. As I was walking I took in my surroundings, the trees, the smell of flowers, children screaming, and dogs barking. It was so peaceful and I could just walk around all day long.
I finally made it to Alex's house and knocked on the door. The door opened and I saw a tall boy with brown hair and his hazel eyes staring into my blue ones. I was taken by surprise when I saw him there. Why was he here?
"Hey, uh Austin? What are you doing here? Where's Alex?" I questioned looking behind him into the house. "Oh yeah I'm hanging out with him. He's in the kitchen and we all wanted to hang out" he smiled.
I faked a smile and went into the house. I saw a group of boys on the couch which were familiar to me. The jerks on the football team. I stared at them until Alex came into the room. "Addison! You're here. We've been waiting for you"
"Uh yeah sorry I didn't know that they were gonna be here" I say looking at the boys. "I wanted you to meet and get to know them more. Ive talked about them to you a lot and I wanted you to make more friends" he winks.
We walked over to the couch and Alex introduced me to everyone. "This is Zach Dorsey" Alex said pointing to him while I smiled and waved. "This is Robert Villanueva" Alex pointed to him and again I smiled and waved. "And this is Austin Mahone" Alex pointed and I stared into Austin's beautiful hazel eyes which gave me butterflies. He smiled and it instantly drove me crazy. How does he have this effect on me when I just met him? No Addison, he is a player. Don't go near him.
Alex brought in food and we all started to eat. The boys were playing a game on Xbox and I wanted to play. "Guys I wanna play", I looked around to see them all looking at me confused. "You play video games?" Austin asked. Alex nodded, "Yeah she plays with me all of the time. I win every time though" He looked over at me and I rolled my eyes. He loses every single time we play because he's not the best at video games. I looked over to Austin who was smiling at me.. I was kinda confused on why because I was never the girl who boys looked at. Maybe because I wasn't pretty.
After the game was over, Austin won and I was second place which didn't come far behind the amount of points Austin had. It was getting close to 11:00 and everyone was getting tired. It was a school night too so I had to get home. Zach and Robert left already so it was only me, Alex, and Austin.
"I have to go home guys it's getting late." I got up to get my things and headed to the door. Alex and Austin both followed and I hugged Alex. Austin just stood there staring at me which I didn't know the reason why. He wrapped his arms around me pulling me in closer for a hug. The feeling of me in his arms was so comforting but then again it wasn't because who knows how many girls he's touched. I pulled away and smiled as I walked out of the door.
