CHAPTER ONE

May opened her eyes to the sound of a sharp loud voice drilling into her head. She rolled over, sat up and reached for her phone on the nightstand to check the time. It said 8:00. She sighed, stood up and went to the bathroom to brush her teeth. Her morning breath can literally kill someone.

After brushing her mouth, she started down the stairs to meet her Ashley, her best friend and roommate. Ashley is a tall and curvy brunette. She and May had known each other since they were children. With Ashley staying in the house next door, they are very close and did almost everything together.

Every Saturday, Ashley and May hung out together. They go from watching movies to playing games, shopping and just talking about boys.
Today being a Saturday, Ashley was inside her kitchen making breakfast. She is a very good cook.

"Good morning" a very chirpy Ashley said to May
May not being a morning person grunted in reply and sat at the counter. Ashley passed a plate of pancakes and syrup to her and she started eating.

"What are your plans for today?" May asked Ashley.

"Hmm, I think we should stay in and watch movies" Ashley replied.

"That's a good idea. I can't even think of stepping out of the house today" may said with a mouthful of pancakes.

"Eww! Close your mouth May" Ashley said grossed out.

"Sorry about that"

They spent the afternoon watching movies and slept after then. In the evening, Ashley left for her house. may, alone with her thoughts decided to cook some food. She wasn't that good with cooking but her mother had loved cooking and taught her some things before she died.

The thought of her mother made her eyes sting with tears. She was a very sweet woman. Mays mother was diagnosed with cancer when she was ten and died two years later. She missed her mother so much. After her mother's death, she had been living alone. About her father, she never met him. Her mom told her he died before she was born. But she loved him nonetheless.

She shook the tears away and started cooking.
