I unpack my my luggage in a small room. I think it's the attic small closed in walls 1 window on the wall. Lord help me I can't live here. I unpack my dresses & night gowns. My aunt calls me down stairs for supper I climb down the latter then the stairs. Since her home is small it only has 8 stairs 1 room & a outhouse unless you can't hold it she has a bucket that you have to empty out after you use it in the pit. And if you want to get some water you have to go to the wall half a mile away. I go down stairs & enter the small dinning room. I see to wooden bowls & two wooden spoons. She can't afford sliver or china. I sit down & wait to be served. " what's taking you so long girl!" My aunt yells."We'll I'm waiting to be served". " served?" She's laughs "in this house you serve your self". I walk into the kitchen & put some soup & a piece of bread in my bowl. The bread looks moldy & the soup is basically broth with some carrots. I eat the soup trying not to taste it.i take a bite of the moldy bread & it's hard as a rock.. I sure do miss my servants cooking delicious Turkey with some fresh baked bread & soup with fresh veggies. Mmm my mouth starts to water. I wash my dish with a bucket filled with water & a ragged cloth.
